Ground Slam

(Is it .85 attacks per second or .85 second attack animation?)

Chris mentions on the previous page that the animation takes 850ms, so it's the latter :)

Attack speed aside, you can get comparable attack speeds via gems and passives,

Due to the fixed attack speed, a 1000ms per attack weapon (1.00 Attacks/second) attacks faster with Ground Slam than with Cleave and Lightning Strike, whilst also dealing more damage against packs than either (LS is better against single targets, by a tiny margin).
When you grab a Sabre (1.65 A/s) instead, Cleave and Lightning Strike are more favorable because they actually benefit from the gigantic attack speed. Ground Slam just deals jack damage with a Sabre.

tl;dr You can, but only if you pick a weapon with an 850ms attack. Any other weapon is skewed towards one set of skills or the other.

looking at the 2h hammers, there are two types that have attack speeds that are slower than 850ms (tribal maul varients and brass maul variants, .95att/sec and 1.15 att/sec respectively).

the others have either 1.2att/sec which is 833ms attack speed, or 1.25att/sec which is 800ms.

Therefore, for 2h mace weapons GS is the goto.

Note: I haven't had time to look at 1h maces, staves, or 1h scepters. These are the only other weapons that can use GS.

Note2: Sweep is the comparable ability to GS, as it can be used with maces. Whereas Cleave cannot be used with maces.
Quick question: ATM does the Ground Slam takes in consideration the AS of the weapon or not?
If not this means that the bigger number of the hammer the better, correct?
-> Marohi Erqui is the best hammer for Ground Slam?

increased attack speed mods and passives work. the gem ignores the speed of the weapon itself.

example+edit: if a weapon is 1.2 attack speed base before a local mod of 10%, the new base of the weapon is ignored but the 10% is still working on the skill.

I didn't get you at all.
Is Marohi the best hammer for Ground Slam or not?

So the AS modifier at the weapon do increase the Ground Slam's AS but the value showed for attacks per second is incorrect?

Correct. Marohi would slightly decrease attack speed.
It's a really powerful weapon. Hard to find something better, but it is possible; a Rare can roll with lesser damage but a 20% IAS mod that more than compensates for the lesser damage.

Ground slam does not use the weapon's base attack duration. The skill has it's own base duration which is used.
This is intentional? WTF?? So you want only the slow 2-handed maces to be good at all with this skill? I'm sorry Mark but this makes no sense to me, where is the logic? This makes a level 57 base-type weapon (Karui Maul) generally more useful for ground slam users than the level 59, 61, 63, 65, and 67 2-handed maces. Why even put a "Colossus Mallet", "Piledriver, "Meatgrinder", "Imperial Maul", or "Terror Maul" in the game if they are going to be 99% useless? A high item-level Karui Maul is going to more useful than any level 67 Terror Maul for a ground slammer. This is intended? ...

Glacial, Dominating, Infernal Blow, Heavy, Double, Flicker, Lightning Strike, Elemental Hit, Frenzy all work off weapon speed. Sweep, Ground and Leap Slam do not.
99%?

Yea considering you just listed a bunch of single-targets that use weapon speed, while all aoe's ignore it. Aoe is 99%.

Sweep is real aoe and infernal blow is kind of aoe and lightning strike can hit multiple targets. This is really just problem of ground slam, nothing more, definitely not other weapons.
