As others have said not really comparable.Skyrims about adventure and exploring losing yourself in the game,POE is about loot and optimising your builds refining your play style and then theres PvP and trading.
OT: I'd actually say the single player RPG experience is better than any ARPG but that's because its meant to be played through once.On the other hand an ARPG is designed to be played repeatedly and maintain enjoyment.Single player is like watching a film or reading a book once you've played it it won't be as enjoyable playing a 2nd or 3rd time(certainly not a 10th,100th time). An ARPG can actually get better as you learn more stuff. |

" Taking nothing away from ARPGS, Skyrim looks to have some replayability, too, if only from skill paths and race choices. Of course, there are enough choices in the game play, itself, to vary things a bit. =^[.]^= =^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/

@Russell, the skyrim art book any good?
Above content may contain traces of nonsense.

My Skyrim just crashed twice as I tried to cross a stone bridge. Dammit Bethesda.

Skyrim and POE are the only 2 games I'm playing at the moment. It saddens me that Skyrim seems to have more bugs than a game in Closed Beta, but it is still a great game and I can see myself playing it alot more.
To me, POE's skill system is more interesting, whereas Skyrims character build offers alot more power and opportunity to make your character better quickly (because it is a world created for a single player and they dont have to deal with Multiplayer Balancing issues) I should have bought Skyrim for the PC though (I have Xbox version), at least then I could manually fix bugs via the console. (Loading times on PC are also faster I hear) Ultimately I think POE is better, but that is only because I prefer Multiplayer games. |

Skyrim is a great game imo. But there are some flaws that makes removes it from the top notch of games out there.
1. Main quest is all too short. (yes I know the game consists of 5 million side quests, but still) 2. I still have the feeling that Bethesda has this way of making their games: Go into dungeon -> Kill/sneak past enemies -> Get quest token/kill boss -> Go out again and repeat. And doing this since TES III, it's become a little... worn out so to speak. There are probably more thing, but I'm not saying Skyrim is the best nor the worst. If played casually you will have plenty of hours to enjoy this game, you really will. I just had hoped there would be an certain something in Skyrim that Oblivion lacked, being the Morrowind fan I am. But hey, still a great game! :) |

Because the Skyrim world is so massive, a lot of bugs came up shortly after launch. There were also plenty of issues resulting from the dynamic radiant quests given by NPCs. Everything from location and objective was random and often bugged out.
Nothing a few console commands can't fix though! Well.. for the most part. |
