What if the notion of "legacy" didn't exist for standard leagues?

I am against legacy because the point of this game is to grind for gear and make your character stronger. With legacy's, I can't grind to get this gear because they simply aren't in the drop tables anymore. Can't chance them or find them. Only way to get them is to pay crazy amounts of exalts. Sure the typical response is "just get the non-legacy" version. But in a game where you try to be the strongest possible to face roll content, why would I want a less effective version of the same item? Also the game is balanced around the non-legacy items, making the gap between the versions even wider. |

What crazy amount of exalts for legacys? 15ex for leg BoR is so much? And 300ex for mirrored helmet isnt much?
They dont drop legacy. True. But mirrored GG gear dont drop as well so what the difference? And some lagacys are more build enabling then non legacys? WTF. How? They got better stats same as you can get better stats on rare item and use weaker non legacy unique. Stop being jealous and instead of buying mirrored piece grab most of legacys at once and keep them in stash if you need. You cant afford them? Oh well if they somehow drop to 1ex each and you get 1 of each then you will say why Alternate arts are so expensive. Remove them from game hehee EDIT : Oh and 1 more thing : Every unique item in game slowly but for sure lose its value, there is no exception for that. Some very good examples, you remember Glare? It was worth so many ex now its few chaos, same with ming's heart, bino's, shav's, etc. Only league specific items and legacy items keep their value, some drop a bit some goes up as always but overall they keep their value. If the stronger version of any unique item and affixe that ever existed in the game come back in the loot pool... Well doesnt matter anyway, the game is already too easy even in new league... And many ppl would come back to play standard.
The only challenge is to stay front of it 12 hours or more per day, to be honnest. So im ok with OP. btw droppable legacies versions of items could be renamed 'antique' or 'relic' LOL. |

It's hilarious to see how this thread turned out. I'm imagining if there were a PoE convention people would be brawling with each other and not even know if the person they are hitting is friend or foe.
1) Legacy is fine (dev's approach) 2) No legacy, change all legacy into current variation 3) No legacy, change all non-legacy into legacy variation So while the pro-legacy people are fighting it out with the anti-legacy people the anti-legacy people are having infighting too. <insert Jackie Chan "I don't even" meme> All i can say is:
