Endgame is boring lol

Does anyone running maps really dislike the endgame? I usually hate ARPG endgame because I can't stand running static content over and over but maps are really fun

Maps are very fun.
Problem is, they hardly drop.
Personally I have a huge backlog

my advice is to buy a map from someone, chisel it to 20% and alchemize it up to rare. I did a +86% quantity/30% quality map a couple days ago while wearing 30% quantity/30% quality MF gear and had 6 maps drop. That's probably an outlier but I almost always get 2+ maps from rare maps. Blue maps usually give me 0-1 maps. (Also this is probably obvious but never do white maps, transmutation/augmentation/alteration orbs should be real plentiful)

Also, I'm not sure if people are aware of this but grouping does not increase map drops the way it boosts other drops, so if you're grouping for maps make sure the map opener gets the first couple maps that drop

Yeah, I just hit 70 last night. No map drops so far...
RNG is RNG?

Guess I kill Piety and few more times and run docks till my eyes bleed :-)

ENDGAME IS REALLY FUN

I don't get this end game stuff. Is this terminology from MMOs or something where you raid and stuff when you reach the end of the content? People kept complaining about it in D3 as well. I've played 300 hours and there is no end game; dude this is not a subscription model, play the next game, you got your money's worth.

My end game: OK I'm done with this, do I feel like playing it again with another character? Yes? No? well ok then what else do I have on my damn Steam backlog. It's the move along blues...

You're saying it's OK for the game to not be sustainable or that it's unreasonable that people expect it to be? I know you didn't come out and say that but that's what it sounded like to me.

This game would tank if everyone bailed when they "got their money's worth". F2P games are built around the idea that you're sticking around for a long time. The things they sell aren't appealing (or worth it) for short term play.

Most people expect to play this genre of game for years to come. It's something GGG obviously knows about and is constantly working on. These types or games, and RPGs in particular, are about doing things over and over to perfect and empower your hero (unless it's a heavy story based RPG, which ARPGs really aren't).

They plan on adding a new Act every year or so in addition to the Races and different Leagues that will be set up, there will be much more to do in the future, it's only Beta after all.

maps are amazing, a lot of fun trying to get good mods with rolls trading them in for higher maps, getting them to drop is soo hard, being force to farm a 63-64 area for hrs when im 74 is meh.
Maybe I've just been lucky but I think there will be way more maps entering the economy than anyone can use

i was addicted pre finishing merciless but now endgame = farming the same shit over and over. interest level has died down hard

welcome to ARPGs...this is their endgame

endless farm to build the ultimate build/char

then reroll

welcome to the genre
When you judge another, you do not define them, you define yourself
I have to say that one of the things PoE has that other games have failed to provide for ME is a desire to start over fresh.

Once maps lose the excitement and gear is boring to grind for, roll up a new toon with a new plan and try to master another style of play!
