Endgame is boring lol

No. He is correct, what you describe is the illusion. Progress is slower at later levels and there is a death penalty passed normal.

I'm not saying levels are only difficult at later levels by this illusion. I'm explaining that the confliction in the slowness of leveling is on his part solely. A lot of grinding games are better for those who approach it with a better mindset. If you approach this game with a ''I'm going to beat this game in 1-2 days'', you're asking for a one-way ticket to futility.

You will always see a man faking love, politeness and respectful behavior.

The great thing about the Map System is that you don't have to farm the same shit over and over.

Every Map is different, and every time you roll a Map you have a chance of getting something new, dangerous and usually Deadly.

The worst part about the Map system is when you run out of Maps or when you have to go down to a lower Map level.

The best way to do it is to not start a Map or a new Map level until you have around 10 maps to start your climbing.
If you spend currency on Maps you will slowly build a Map storage big enough that you won't ever need to drop out the Map system.

The most boring thing ever though, is the attitude of a bored person...

I never said anything about wanting to beat the game in 1-2 days. I just want the same leveling rate that the game seems to imply for much of the game. What I don't like is the abrupt change in XP required/number of mobs you need to kill.

I'm saying "I don't enjoy the change in leveling rate" and you're saying "If you prepare yourself beforehand for the leveling rate you'll enjoy it". No, I won't. I enjoy being able to steadily progress through areas a single time only and level up as I go. I don't enjoy grinding the same level or levels hours on end so I can gain enough levels to beat the endboss. I can't deceive myself into enjoying that.

Achan, I also strongly suggest trying out the Map system. The Maps are designed to offer a steadily ramping end game difficulty with great rewards. There is a ton of variety in the environments the maps contain, and players have the ability to modify their challange. Give them a try if you haven't already, I suspect that they'll rekindle that addiction you felt on the way to completing Merciless.

yes, try it...it gets boring pretty fast, too, cuz they look the same, have no interesting bosses, nothing REALLY new either for the eye or the gameplay.

Would be cool to see some uber-quests like in the diablo 2 mods: MEDIAN-XL or CHAOS EMPIRE MOD. In general it would be cool if GGG had some groundbreaking new ideas for how to not make another classic ARPG endgame.

game still is cool until endgame and making new builds, that later on don't work in merciless due to lack of exceptional gear, is fun, too!

Try finding a rare map that has the following mods:

Ele weakness
Monsters do 80-100% more Ele damage
Can't regen life or mana
Double boss
Frenzy/End charges on enemies
More rare monsters/champions

If anybody beats this kind of map in the highest map tier, that would be something to crow about.

Well I've been farming Merciless for ages and not gotten a single map. If the end game is only accessible through random luck, then it's not really end game cos you ain't gonna do maps if they're not dropping.

I lost interest before even finishing Merciless :(
I don't like how much slower the leveling gets as you progress, and the XP loss makes it worse.
I'd rather just make new characters... now if only I had more skills to play with.

people are a bit harsh. to tell you the truth, the game does get old when you don't meet your goal or do the same thing over and over (docks etc).

my goal now since i out leveled act3 is maps. i used to get maps a lot when i was under leveled (about 55 when i was farming docks) but once i hit 63 exactly, they stopped dropping all together. I know RNG is RNG, but I mean now i'm close to 72 and I haven't seen one map drop since then.

i try to play with groups to get better drops and maybe a map or 2, but the moment i join i get kicked because i'm a summoner. so i'm stuck with solo. i try to farm a bit but because my interest is maps, i get bored fast since they don't drop anymore... i don't have enough currency to buy them cause i used them to build my characters.

i'm not complaining much, i had a lot of fun soloing the maps. that's why i like them. it's just that they don't drop enough (63-72 is long enough for a map not to drop).

@MEDIAN XL / CHAOS EMPIRE MOD: but at least those quests rewarded u with something interessting and had some special mobs. the maps here are not so interesting in terms of reward AND mobs.
