Endgame is boring lol
Guess the game would be a lot more interesting if max level was higher and levling was faster.
Everybody likes that +1 skill point feeling. Max level 200 and leveling speed a lot faster from 50+ to ~150 would be really nice. So maybe you are about lvl 100 at the end of merciless and still have a lot of levels to come. As for balance: i dont care at all. Every ARPG is about getting a god owing mobs. And: make maps buyable and for those that faceroll the "normal game" make damn hard killer maps that really slaughter lvl 150 chars. Would be a lot more interesting for everybody and we could really use this great HUGE skill web you gave us. |

Thank you for you really well grounded arguments.....

Dont need arguments when you urself say something like "As for balance: i dont care at all." because that itself is admitting your idea is going to break the balance, and you are a mere exile in this game, you arent a nephalem, you dont have to end up as a god here.

I don't get this end game stuff. Is this terminology from MMOs or something where you raid and stuff when you reach the end of the content? People kept complaining about it in D3 as well. I've played 300 hours and there is no end game; dude this is not a subscription model, play the next game, you got your money's worth.
My end game: OK I'm done with this, do I feel like playing it again with another character? Yes? No? well ok then what else do I have on my damn Steam backlog. It's the move along blues... |

" That wouldn't make all that much of a difference, it still takes a much longer to level than I'd like. Dying only makes it worse, as I said. |

" Actually, if you stopped dying, it would make a great difference ;) - Leveling is intended to be slow at higher difficulty, and I personally prefer it that way. It's just awesome to have a high lvl char when the most people are low lvl's. Danskere: PM mig, hvis I har brug for en guild. Last edited by ongZ#0545 on Feb 11, 2013, 11:43:04 AM

" " " This is it really. 1) Farming over and over is a fundamental part of ARPGs and most RPGs in general. The Map system and monster affixes does a pretty decent job of mixing things up a bit though in my experience. 2) A significant part of RPGs and even more so in PoE is finding out new builds, min/maxing and theorycrafting. This game lends itself to that more than other RPGs and it was built from the ground up with the idea that there are so many ways to customize and create a character that you will be doing it more than once. For instance, my first character is pretty cookie cutter to be safe until I acquire a gear pool and some wealth, then I plan to experiment quite a bit. 3) Perfecting your gear. Perfect gems, flasks, weapons, and armor. Not an easy or quick feat in PoE. If these things don't appeal to you I'm not sure you'll ever really enjoy the "end game" of an ARPG or even an MMO. My advice would be to find a bunch of friends to play with. It really makes the game more fun to compare characters, gear, items, currency, builds, and then go out and slay maps together. Oh, and play Hardcore. |____________ G . L . O . W . Y . R . " yea good one, if you can get a map to drop, about 50 dock runs yesterday, got 1 map... done the map, and didnt even get a map for doing that map, so back to dcks for another 5hrs? |

" Playing without dying is faster than without, obviously. But I've leveled without dying and it's still too slow. " That could still be the case with a smoother leveling system. Then instead of +5 levels ahead you'd be +10 ahead, for example. They could even raise the death penalty even further if they reduce the XP needed to get higher levels. |
