General Discussion - So played PoE for a while then played d3... My reaction... - Forum

Strange for a Game that's so Garbage more people watch it on Twitch then the so called "Masterpiece" PoE hehe. After all the time i spent on D2 and the memories i made could never bash the Diablo Series even tough D3 didn't end up being the Game i wanted. Everyone have different opinions on what's good and high quality and what's not. And as I already stated earlier in this thread I like both D3 and POE because even if they are the same genre they are vastly different and both are good at what they are trying to be. D3 has the faster combat and the instant gratification thing going for it. Crafting in it still sucks for the most part as do a lot of the legendary items, although they have improved greatly. But yea its just running bounties or rifts over and over. Not to say that's a bad thing. PoE has a better feel to it, meaning it feels like more of an action rpg than D3 does. The season/race play is also better as far as I'm concerned, although D3 seasons are ok and you get some neat cosmetic rewards. PoE is far deeper and a lot more interesting to me. But to each their own, its nice to go monster bashing in D3 now and again. Although its far from being what it could have been....another opinion. I love that last sentence the main reason I really kinda dont like D3 is that it just could have been sooo good but they went the exact opposite way I would have liked them to. D3 for me scratches a different itch, unfortunately, it is not the dungeon crawling, theory crafting itch, but the completionist itch. Explains why I get exited only after 70, and then quits after completing my gear set. I would play it for some achievements and cosmetic upgrades. POE is truly my go to when it comes to arpg. I would loose sleep over it, die in HC, then reroll my 10th Duelist of the week. If I wasn't committed to anything IRL, I would stream and try to reach for more. The game elements in POE is now my measuring stick for any new game I want to play. May Keysus bless my soul. FadeXF mentioned you could still level in campaign in D3, but still they made adventure mode to be much faster leveling. You know why? Because Diablo 3 campaign is the most utter garbage of a campaign there is. The script, the acting and plot are so terrible I can't wrap my head how an adult person could have written such a story, such a script. I think my 13 years old brother would have written better dialogs and plot than what D3 has. Like HOOOOLY SHIT! I cringe sooooo hard when I play D3 story and listen to the dialogs. That's why they allowed you to level in adventure mode. Contrary, when I play PoE's story from level 1, I feel great. I feel like it has a great story, setting, plot and script for an ARPG.
