So played PoE for a while then played d3... My reaction...

It's both because (in contrast to what you said earlier) in PoE rerolling is actually fun because of all the possibilities you have, so you have many players who are 100% altoholics and constantly reroll.

I'm tired of reading this like it is a fact. You enjoy rerolling and find the storyline progress fun. I find it horribly tedious and annoying to be forced to reroll. I've gone through the whole story three times now and I'd be happy to never do it again. Let me start at level 65 with all the waypoints and I would enjoy POE more, not less.

This is what the ARPG genre is about - if you dont enjoy that, you are not right for the genre.

No, you would be less frustrated, which isn't the same thing. The sense of having to work through building up new characters is part of what creates the high of finally accomplishing it and acquiring the character you wanted. Skipping it just dulls the experience and you'd get bored more quickly.

It is a fact because I'm talking about altoholics (those people enjoy rerolling per definition). I also say it's both, so I acknowledged that players like you exist. Not sure what's your problem.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

No it's not lol. I find way more fun in mapping, grinding bosses and trading than rerolling

Or at least, it doesn't have to be about rerolling

So many of you speaking on D3's mechanics clearly haven't played it in years, if at all.

This +100. Never thought that there could be something like Fairweather-Haters. But here they are.
The Sirus fight is a disgrace.
People saying D3 doesn't have build diversity don't get it. It's like saying Nethack doesn't have any build diversity. A build in PoE and a build in D3 are fundamentally different. This is also why Fade is writing a fricken' novel trying to explain it in PoE terms (hint: you can't). I made a big post about it earlier in this thread but none of the anti-D3 crowd seems to have paid it any attention.

It's called selective retention.

It's actually pretty amusing I think and there's little point in trying to be enlightening on the subject because ... well you know,"haters gonna hate" and all that jazz. lol

Smells rather much like a failure/reluctance to adapt to different concepts and calling them bad concepts ..... when mostly ... it's just different concepts/mechanics that eventually lead to the same conclusion.

=)

Why exactly is there a solwitch thread with 17 pages? That's like making a cockroach president.

Both games are fun and cater towards a different crowd at the end game, can we leave it as that?
