Have you ever heard of Pirates of The Burning Sea? It's an older indie MMO. It died a few years back after getting involved with Sony Online Entertainment but I think some of the original Dev's are trying to bring it back/ keep it going.

The learning curve was really tough, which I think is part of what did it in, but the game it self was really fun.

Yeah I thought it was quite cool. I didnt really get how to play but I liked it. I was also like... 16 at the time haha. The lag over here in nz though was next level. If someone boarded us we were insta dead. Well quite the opposite. Everyone would idle for around 30 seconds. Then "you are dead" would pop up. So yeah.. Was a really cool concept though.

Ship boarding was terrible. You weren't missing much. You could tell they had limited resources and focused most of them on the ship to ship combat rather than the player level combat. Developing two completely different combat systems as an indie company must have been really tough though.

I still hope someday a company that knows how to run a free to play game takes the concept, puts a better engine, polish and shine to it and releases a similar game... hint hint :-)

I can see a definete dark souls influence which is a good thing but it's still a hack n' slash, meaning it's basically 5+ years dated in most aspects by default. I mean seriously, for 2015 you consider this game to have inredible graphics/aesthetics when they are coming out games in the near future that will look like this:

BTW kingdom come is developed by an indie Czech company completely underfunded, and is supposed to be a completely realistic(no magic/dragons etc.) actiony RPG. But look at the damn graphics.

I see no DS influence whatsoever in lost ark. On the contrary, its mmo-ish arpg-ish mostly, which is far different than what DS is.
I dont care THAT much for graphics as long as they dont make my eyes hurt. Lost ark from what i see has great graphics.
The witcher (which u posted) is a great game series and not only cause of graphics, although TW3 will have great graphics its not what lured me into the series.

I dont have much to say about kingdom come (reminds me of skyrim), seems it will be cool for the people who like these kind of games. Personally i like some kind of magic into my games, or at least something that differentiate them from normal life. I think it will be something like mount and blade with better graphics? Is it from the same company?

Edit: graphics didnt make me lose my mind. Not that great IMO, Have seen better.
