Poll: What would you prefer as a nerf to crit mechanic?

crit is totally fine.

my new lvl 67 no crit 2H cyclone build already is almost as effective with about 7ex of gear than my lvl 87 50+ exalt crit dagger spectral throw build with legacy coil and capped crit chance...
Without the shock the dagger build already would be worse...

with lvl 87 and proper gear it will just lough at those "super OP" ST dagger builds.

the another problem with 100% ailment is that if you are an All element buzzsaw or discharger, you deal all status on crit...

The first option is the more reasonable. Finding the perfect balance to max all the elemental resistances is hard enough to add critical strikes to that. It just makes the elemental damage too OP.
Having played alot of crit in the past, with acuity and mirrored dagger, i have to say that this game does not have crit(at least on the high end gear/level). Since you can crit 85% of the time(95% crit chance, 90% accuracy), even with AoE attacks, you bascially use your multiplier as your regular damage. This by design is bad, but is beyond saving at this point.

What could POSSIBLY work(and propably not): Reduce the crit cap to 40%, making it as hard to reach as the current 95%. Create the possibility through power charges to move that cap up to 50%, since you need an extra support gem for that. Now with maxed out crit chance with very heavy investment and all power charges, with 50% crit chance and 90% accuracy you have 45% final chance to crit. Then buff crit multiplier on gems and tree for about 50% and reduce the multiplier effect on AoE situations. EG. melee splash crits with 75% damage effectiveness, inherent AoE attacks(like Reave) or Lesser Multiple Projectiles crit with 65% damage effectiveness, Greater Multiple Porjectiles crit with 55% damage effectiveness. Aditional AoE support mechanics, like Chain or Pierce reduced the crit damage effectiveness for an additional 15%.

one of the worst ideas ever...
40% crit cap would kill so many builds (especially ice spear, bu everything else that doesnt have a 9+% base crit) and it would be so insanely annoying
you'd have insane streaks of no dmg at all and suddenly you do a quadrillion dmg in one hit.
reflect would be even a lot worse than it is now
and burn builds would be ridiculously OP.
Crit would also be pretty much unplayable till high lvl (once you get all your crit chance and power charges...) and only viable with mirrored gear.
Going crit on lower lvl would be a total waste of points because with 20% chance to crit or lower you crit like... never

also another less multiplier for crit dmg on AoE supports?
So you already have to pay 10-100 times as much for crit gear as for other, have less space on items for defensive stats and you have to spend more passives for all that crit stuff, to be as good or even worse than no-crit builds?

To paraphrase: make crit unreachable except for those that are filthy rich and 90+. How does destroying crit help?
Diminishing returns. Easier to stack up to 25%, and being harder over that. But whatever, i wonder how on all other games critical strikes work with 25-50% crit rate. If the game by design wants you to crit always in order to work, then there is something very wrong with the game.

I miss the old days... where games offer crit in a basic package and everybody was pleased with it

Nothing. Crit didn't and doesn't need to be nerfed. People don't realise tha crit looks so appealing because alternatives to crit are all garbage. Thus these nerf cries are a misinformed and misinterpreted trash that needs to be exposed.
