It's just a game, folks. The items, the economy, the exalts... all just pixels and in the end mean pretty much nothing. Maybe the super rich PoE guys do it for the RL money so it might not mean 'nothing', who knows? Who are we to judge? Who cares? Just enjoy the game for yourself, in whatever way be it poor, rich... doesn't matter. Play how you can to your limits, enjoy what you can to your limits and don't try to compete with the others... just have fun. And keep reminding yourself, this is just a game, a hobby at most and should not be your job and most definitely should not be the central part of your life. Worry and concern about yourself more than others!

I used to play Standard, but I've all but abandoned it because of the totally effed up economy.
Thing is, when there's a weak temp-league that I don't want to ratrace through to 80 again (hi Rampage!), instead of sticking to Standard, I just don't play anymore. Standard should serve a purpose as "that place you go when the temp leagues aren't compelling enough to level a new character in". Currently the economy is so fucked up though that I'd much rather blow through my Steam queue over the next 3-4 months if I don't feel like grinding out a new character.
