ok just got curious and looked at AXN's shop
wanted to check what DPS and APS does the best staff in the game have, on XYZ, and stumbled upon the guy's shop thread.
fuck trade. I think I'll be officially going back to self-found. seriously, imagine a situation where one person in one nation, will be owning and controlling all the natural resources and industry of the entire world. that's what it looks like. I hope that "economy" thing works out well for you guys, because I'll be damned if I ever go near it again. EDIT: here's my follow-up post from below, to clarify:
Spoiler
" he worked a system, which is fundamentally flawed. that's the problem. economy has its limits. there will likely be at least one Billionaire per industry: one for steel, one for gas, one for oil, a couple for software and so on. comparable to Path Of Exile, economy should look like this: one guy with the best dagger. one guy with the best AR chest. one guy with best bow etc'. AXN's shop? that's like one man came in, bought out all the other Billionaires and took over everything. sure, a big part of it is jealously. I bought a bad-rolled Astramentis for my build yesterday, and for a brief moment felt like a kingpin - while this guy is likely doing multiple-hundred Exalt deals each hour. but an "economy" which allows that to happen, equals crap. despite all of GGG's efforts and precious economy-centric balance and design. truth be told, I never liked the fkn "economy" in the game, so seeing things like this makes it even easier for me to hate the system. yes, the system. the man is only a symptom. therefore, fuck trade. I'm bringing this, as a good example why GGG should admit defeat in their precious "economy" BS, and finally focus on gameplay and stability, for cryin out loud. " I'm not sure it's that different to how money accumulates in the real world. You a commie or something? ;) |

While his shop is a ridiculous situation I do not envy the guy whatsoever, it must be a fucking nightmare for him to deal with. Imagine the amount of time he has to spend maintaining his empire, his 'gameplay' is dealing with people & trading the market & I personally cannot think of anything worse. He is welcome to it

I fail to see how this affects you in the slightest. I didnt look at his shop nor will i ever do that to know how i play the game.

Yeah, I agree with Lethal, it's not my style of play - I'd rather eat glass than spend all day in trades or trying to craft things.
But if he is playing the game he enjoys, more power to him! That is the beauty of a game like this, it can cater to a multitude of different styles of play and entertainment. Without guys like AXN or Jake or the others who craft this level of gear, we would never have seen what these items were ultimately capable of. Plus, videos of the screenfuls of mobs just melting are fun to watch. I reckon... there should be a DPS cap. Like 1.5million or something, and when you reach that level of damage, the mobs have a flag that switches on called "Fuck this shit" and instead of attacking, they gain double-onslaught and just do a runner. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 == Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years. Best of luck in the future! Last edited by CaptainWaffleIron#2395 on Jan 4, 2015, 2:50:34 PM

" On Fallout 1 and 2, save-editor levels of damage could cause even the final boss to flee from you. If you don't know what I'm talking about, picture a giant mutant cyborg on power armor running away from you. If you ask a stupid question, expect stupid answers.
