john you are the best.
your threads are the best. I cant say I agree or disagree with you completely here.. theres pros and cons to the economy and so much to do in the game it can support several playstyles.. I myself enjoy trading somewhat ( as you most certainly are already aware ) and although I accept Ill never have the expanse of wealth that some do, I enjoy working towards set goals and incrementally improving over time via drops and trades. its not a perfect game, but it is a very good game, and you are a super fun guy to play with, so I really hope you are able to salvage your attitude and get back to being johnkeys. stay golden ponyboy p.s. FUCK THE ECONOMY :) do what you want to the girl, but leave me alone.

" Nobody "bashes" on you, every week for years you would post something about not liking the economy, "risk vs reward" or acquiring gear. Even after all of the years when they make something better, add something that is similar to your viewpoint of how the game should be you pretend the game never changed or the update never happened and everything is the same'ol same'ol. That or you just conveniently ignore nuances in an ARPG system such as rare gear. You look at AXN shop and decided to make a thread about the gear you'll never have? Which is why I posted to chop off 2 affixes off of gear which is what diablo 3 did, because no matter what if there is a class of "rare" and "ultra rare never have" items. People will bitch endlessly of not being able to get them. Regrade-less if you can beat the game and faceroll it with 3 decently rolled affixes out of the possible 6. The economy works because it scales almost endlessly upwards higher and higher, why doesn't a player like AXN quit the game? That's because even having everything, there is still even higher heights to do. He still need to corrupts perfect shavs, he still needs to create the every single affix is perfect weapon that is corrupted. He himself although controls a large party of the high end economy (that doesn't affect 95% of you players anyway) he drives the economy also ripping high level items, moving tons of currency and ripping them to create such a gear. He also give players something to aim for with his items. The game is not balanced in the slightest around even 30% of the items strength in axn shop, and almost anyone can agree this is one of the most easy version of PoE in the long time. Stuff like mastercrafting was nerfed not because the "economy", it was because everyone was face-rolling ladders within the first week. In the end what causes someone to make a thread like this based on gear? 1. Something like AXN existing is somehow inherently wrong and shows why the economy is "wrong". This is equivalent to reality were the existence of ultra million and billionaires is viewed as "wrong", but they are the ones creating jobs and spending money of a ton of services that wouldn't exist without them. Nobody says "I want the right amount of money and I'll be happy." If there is more it motivates you to (play) acquire more. 2. Game is balanced around said items and being "L337", sadly this is a lone begone era in PoE. Everything now is just 100% balanced around the ladder, don't dilute yourself otherwise. D2 didn't last forever because of open battle.net and single player, neither will PoE. 3. A amount of content being achievable by a number of players. This is inherently a flawed viewpoint because you always need content for the upper top level of players. Using the diablo 3 example again, they chopped of 2 affixes and changed around rolls so everyone can get 4 good affix items in a "reasonable time." It actually didn't mean anything because it took you the same amount of time in the post to achieve the same numbers, it just you felt "maxed out" because there was a lower cap. Upper level of players who would grind for the last 1-2 good affixs to become even better were alienated. Good reasons to post about "gear." 1. Progress with dropped gear and normal levels of trading is unsustainable and bad. Multiple buffs to drop rates and masters nearly or completely fixed this, along to buffs to the skill tree making the game overall easier. 2. Lack of gear variety and types of gear for multiple builds. Could use always more work but almost every build has at least 1 unique with master crafting fine tuning parts of your build that were hard to find. 3. Gearing affixs being "boring". I'm surprised people don't post about this more since personally I think it's a huge problem with the large amount of "junk" affixes and the general creativeness of possible affixes that do not exist in PoE. I know AXN pretty well and I can tell him he's not a douche or anything, nor is he trying to controll the market. He has his stuff and benefits from mirrorservices => enabled to craft new stuff etc. He isn't controlliing the market spamming tradechat for 15hours a day trying to flip
It's hard to remember what you have forgotten

" I have a couple characters leveled, thank you. Not all of us have the time to play incessantly. however, phone browsing the forums gets my poe jollies off while I am away from my computer or it is otherwise not accessible. that said, I have ~700 hours on poe? I agree with the main points. when I see master crafting nerfed, something I was looking forward to doing when/if I managed to get away from my life long enough to level my masters, because of severe economic impact, I instantly look to the state of said economy. these things were nerfed to protect the stashes of super players. plain and simple. races etc? I doubt it. new leagues? don't you have to rebuild your master support? you talk about real world where the ultra rich are somehow caring for the rest of us. they are not. they are doing everything they can to line their own pockets. there are countless examples of this, and your own jealousy (wanting what they have, so you advocate for it) doesn't change this. just look at the wall street banks responsible for the 2008 crash, fuel prices, Enron... those are just three examples, and those three seemingly separate incidents all involve at least one common party... Koch industries. I'm not saying axn is a bad guy. but when ggg balances the game according to these things the majority will never see, it's disheartening. |

This is why you play hardcore only, and 4 month leagues on top of that.
I browse the thread, wtf, laughed at all those god-tier items that will always be useless. Come to hardcore where a white six link is valuable, and dead high levels are more of an accomplishment than owning god-tier items that have no use. |
