" Even in RL there are alternatives to so called monopolies. And new wealth in generated all the time from zero by smart ppl while rich rest on laurels (intrest). The only thing that fucks things up is govt intervention beyond protecting private property. Lucky PoE deosnt have govt intervention and protects our warez. And new wealth is generated all the time even with AXN. Git R Dun! Last edited by Aim_Deep#3474 on Jan 5, 2015, 3:55:18 AM

" I don't want to derail this thread too much, so i'll just clarify my point a little: (Hint: I don't bear a grudge against rich people irl) Our worlds resources are finite. There are very real limits to what we can do with it. Wich is a big reason why the economy exerts pressure on everyone irl. And that is not so in the game. Compared to our world, wraeclast itself is growing with every player. In Wraeclast, you can go into your own instance, put your flag in the ground and call yourself El Presidente. After you dealt with the cannibals :-) Last edited by Acrylique#7189 on Jan 5, 2015, 4:13:25 AM

Lol at this thread, full of jealousy. :)
Also proof that mirrors should just be removed. GGG put them in only because D2s best feature was item duping so they made it legal in POE. IF anything, a mirror should make both items unchangeable. |

Awesome perfect items... but IMO you'd get bored of the game in two days, when stacked in full mirror gear. Mindlessly plowing through everything is the final stage and there is nothing beyond it.
This bow I made in Rampage, I'm really proud of and it's the best item I have. It was made for a fraction of the cost of those mirror worthy gear and it's already enough to faceroll all content (borderline making the game boring). This whole thread is born out of jeleousy. Other peoples trading and wealth has NO impact on your gameplay at all, unless you start trading high end items.
If that happens - then you need to WORK to compete with these guys. Think of trading as a seperate 'game' withing the 'game' When you start out, your are the newbie at it, so tbh its right you cant compete with guys who have been doing it years. As for all these analogies people are pulling up about the real world, to show it is wrong and monoplies don't exist. All I have to say is 'get a grip and stop arguing for the sake of it' /mark |

It honestly is amusing that axn made the OP like NOT wanna trade lmao. I'll make something very clear to you; The rulers of standard don't really care about other stuff but god tier stuff such as glyph mark. If you have no desire rather can't afford those items then you shouldn't be affected.
John here is a casual no no not a bad type of casual( There is no ''bad casual) but the whole likely will never have mirrored type / god tier gear so why it affects him is just hilarious. Like it affects him so bad he won't trade anymore BOOOHOOOO Seriously? I mean for god sakes if your letting ONE person ruin you because of stuff you will likely never ever get then you got issues. For the people who can afford it we like the guy, Well I fucking hate the guy hes one of the worst ''rulers'' of the standard by far but hey I got my Glyph mark from him because I can afford it. But anyway if you weren't or never could afford these type of items then it shouldn't affect you in the first place. These people don't rule the basic economy. Only mirrored etc 6L shavs whatever, Not the basic economy itself. Dys an sohm Rohs an kyn Sahl djahs afah Mah morn narr Last edited by Coconutdoggy#1805 on Jan 5, 2015, 5:56:01 AM

" This is like "boohoo that guy is richer than me, he has 5 houses", but no one ever asks themselves if they themselves need to be rich let alone the damn 5 houses to be happy and have fun. I think many players have fun without the need to look at how others are doing. :)

funny how rich players bring the same argument as neoliberal apologets irl when it comes to tax the rich.
but back to the game: ultra rich control the markets to get even richer ultra rich decide who gets overpowered items and who doesn't ultra rich soak up currency (eternals, exalts, mirrors) from the economy real crafting is restricted to the top 1% of players so far, so bad but: currency drops are probably calculated with normal distribution in mind. the overwhelming whealth of the top 10% inflates prices for high end rare items. most of the player base will recognize that it's folly to even try to get into these circles. and there is one problem which also applies to real life if you somehow drive down the gini factor to zero: inflation, because too much money is chasing too few goods. and in difference to governments ggg has no control over the current amount of excess currency because there is no tax mechanism. the good things: in difference to real life the top whealthiest cannot bribe devs to change the rules to get even richer. and ggg can jist change the rules for more even distribution without causing a revolution just my 2 cents age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
