Player got banned at lvl93 in beyond for maphack

If the game was not an online game with other players, I could see the argument about "who cares". But the fact is, it is an online multiplayer game. Players that sre solo only now, might change their mind later. Even coming the forum as a solo player has an impact. "I play solo and destroy everything" (let's not discuss if this player uses his contra like cheat code to "Win".

I just think bitching about the guy making it to 93, why did they not catch him sooner is a bad place to be. The point is they caught him. Cast a wide net and you are going to catch a lot of people...innocent, guilty, new, vets, ..eventually everyone. That is not a good way to combat the problem. IMO, this game and GGG do an exceptional job in this arena. Expecting to to be eradicated is naive to the nth degree. Go pull out your Nintendo and play in your utopian bubble if that is what you expect :)

So it is acceptable for everyone to level with cheat codes until lvl 93 for them to be caught?

I suppose you havent heard of a player who sold almost 100 exalted worth of GCP in beyond league.

Do you know 100 exalted worth of GCP is how much?

Beyond and Rampage currency is almost the same, so let's round them up to 1040 GCPs.

Anu... thats not a very nice post!!

I couldn't agree more with Kasub. GGG do an exceptional job at keeping away the cheaters and the bots. I never EVER get spammed by bots to sell me crap or advertising their RMT sites.

I think some people in this thread need to think about that and realise when credit is due.

Its too easy to criticise and not show appreciation for something you haven't felt in game.

Trivia knowledge: Did you know that a banker in the UK has pleaded guilty to manipulating the LIBOR rate... this is following the 'letting go' of 8 Lloyds TSB staff members due to unethical influences on financial rates.

You cannot stop dishonesty. You can only try to prevent it and deal with it once found. I think GGG have done exactly that.

The GCP fiasco has also ended in a ban.... or did this not fit into your acceptable timescale?!

Perhaps GGG have been concentrated on banning larger offenders. Maybe 1000 GCP or whatever is childsplay... the point is, YOU have no idea. Just the same as me.

Dude, many players in this thread agrees that GGG hasn't done enough to prevent players from cheating.

If you think 1000 gcps is just mere childsplay to obtain, you're wrong. Yes it does not fit into my acceptable timescale. If it does to you, then you should reconsider.

If 20 players had done the same thing, obtaining 1000 gcp in illegal means, how would that affect the game? Please don't be naive on this.

Reason? Simple.

In a game where rules are absolutes, poor execution of rules throughout the game can be detrimental to the gaming environment. Every game developer should know this better.

Dota doesn't allow maphacks and if system found the player offender it will lead to straight ban. Players can report this abuse too and helped the game be free from cheaters.

Runescape doesn't allow real-money trading,botting and any sort of macros. Usage will be straight ban. Players can report too.

Destiny Online doesn't allow hacking into their client, nor botting, usage will be straight ban. Players can report.

The list will go on and on. But the concept behind it is simple : Rules are administered effectively
