What are some of the things from Closed Beta that you remember?

I remember when I could grind Fellshrine without being afraid I would die, felt like an accomplishment. Fellshrine was THE place to grind pre-maps.
Resistances didn't actually do anything, they were just numbers here and there.

Avatar of Fire operated differently.

Diamond flasks give 100% crit.

Each boss was a gear/skill check. Now the game is face roll easy all the way until act 3 merc.

That's 100% not true. The two last infographics made by GGG after the recent 2 Weeks Race and the One Month Hardcore Race showed both times that the most deadly zone in the game is Cruel Sceptre of God.
IGN : @Morgoth
things i remeber:

1 it wasn't path of life nodes unless you were in hardcore and it was perfectly viable to have 2.5k hp at closed beta end game

2 10k dps was considered enough dps

3 elemental was op because weapon elemental damage was basically two gems in one ( 75% more damage with a 1.7 multi )

4 chest armor could roll rarity

5 he game was better paced.

6 there was actually more build variety since dps wasnt as huge a bullet point.

7 totems were op because of reason number 2 , totems at their peak popularity in this game dont hold a candle to the current meta

8 ground slam build was a popular build

9 cleave was a popular build

10 you had more mf options in that you could just use a skill with iiq and iir gems over needing to stack mf gear

11 geopheries uniques were called voll's unqiues

12 i regularly saw developers in chat dialy,

13 the community was small enough that i actually interacted with streamers liek kripp on their dead characters in standard .. and you know that shit is rare.

14 there were more kiwis around T-T

An incredibly friendly community.

Right now it's "I disagree" = "You've raped my firstborn"
There were no cannibals, they were scavengers.

there was no way to leach to ES.

Acrobatics section was one node and was mostly avoided because it only offered 30% dodge, and I don't think it gave spell dodge.

Large Chests could be in any indoor zone, and if I recall correctly Brutus and Mervail always had them.

You didn't have to kill anything to reopen the road from act 1 to act 2, you just clicked on it.

I can see your / Back is turned and / If I could I'd / Stick my knife in.

I remember that, but it'll never come back, they don't play anymore.

Welcome to the greatest of arenas, Duelist. God is watching you.

AVATAR OF FIRE 1.0

all physical damage converted to fire damage, cannot resist cold.

Don't Touch my Sweep please GGG!
using lots of increased rarity, because it did stuff

having way more quantity

recasting auras each level

summoning zombies in every room (because they couldn't follow very well)

skeletotems

getting kicked from parties because summoners with auras would kill performance

suiciding in town with a caustic flask
