Pretty sure I will go for this BA build in bloodlines.

Just put together a ranger tree for this to include some trap nodes so I can put down 5 traps in total.

Critique plz.
What would be better and what worse compared to marauder?
With ondar's and acrobatics nodes you have multiple layers of defense and it solves all dex problems straight away. Also because you are moving around a lot evasion is better than armour right?

The only difference really is that you are banking on Eva instead of Armour, this has its upsides, but it also has some downsides.

Downsides:
- Less HP
- Low Evasion rating, only 110% from the tree. Getting a high amount on your Chest will most likely be mandatory. This means that you most likely will have too little evasion if you go a Chest like Carcass Jack.
- The new armour nodes in Marauder are so insane that with them my old Beyond Marauder would hit 35k Armour easily.
- It will be harder to get a Defensive quiver (like rearguard) because you have acro... So you are losing the possible armour and block.

Upsides:
- Alot easier to gear
- Easier to level
- Can get a crazy DPS quiver (can be a downside, seeing as the build is not lacking in damage)
- If you like evading things

My view on Armour vs Evasion on this topic is that Evasion is often very good to dodge your own reflect on most bow-builds. This is not a problem when you are using traps however, so i feel that Armour is the superiour choice.

THAT SAID, there are ways to do the build as a ranger and still go armour. All about preference.

Oosband's version of a ranger BA trapper with armour and using a Lightning Coil.

-Like i explained in my guide, getting dex with this build is insanly hard. i wouldnt skip Quickness(imo). Its one of the things that is better for this build in this tree, the access to more dex.

- With skipping Arsonist you are gaining 1 point of 3% allres and 4% life, i really dislike that node. Arsonist is too good to skip imo, its actually perfect. This build will get to 5,5k hp easy, Having another 1% lifereg is very good for sustain.

- I'm not making Quickness inaccessible: it's only a strength node away. I usually theorycraft assuming enough dex on gear to avoid having to take extra dex nodes - for leveling, Quickness is still a must.

- I didn't skip arsonist to spec into the Barbarism cluster (I'm taking it regardless, since +1 max fire res is too good to pass up). The idea was to save a few skill points by taking a path near RT, since that detour has to be made one way or another. That meant skipping Arsonist. If the damage is really needed, the unrelenting cluster can be respecced into Arsonist. But compared to the 1.2 build this is more than made up by the extra ele dmg we get from templar nodes.
But as far as I'm concerned, HP flasks are what sustain you in maps, not regen. For this build, degen only really helps counter degens and mitigate the BM cost of Flammability.

I love regen on my Lifebased characters because im not a fan of having a slow hp pot, i want two Seethings.

But like i said, its all preference.

Im actually really glad other people have different views on my build than myself, it makes it really interesting.

Sweet build man I had a lot of fun. I finally RIP at level 69 to a Rouge Storm Herald. I had the carcass 5L and Chin 4L running through the slums point blanking everything white blue and yellow in one shot with burning arrow not in a trap. I had projectile damage,BA,WED,and EP on while I was waiting to 5L the bow for traps and it was still ridic face melting with just a 4L. I was using the Vaal Burning Arrow in the trap becaue it seemed more effective. I was clearing groups so fast that I almost always had at least one VBA trap ready at all times. Thanks for the build I am most def going to try it again. Vaal Burning Arrow trap is like having a mini nuke friggin love it.
How do you end up getting mana to run aura's?
How does adds an additional arrow give you more damge?

Having an additional arrow means that My vaal burning arrow hits twice, One of those arrows hit for around 16k Firedamage (if not more).

The problem with that for some of the tanky bosses (like palace dom) is that i would have to ignite the boss with that one trap. That means having it hit TWICE, doubles the chance of an ignite. And like i said earlier, it doubles its damage

I do not have chance to ignite on my Vaal burning arrow, its usually used on big bluepacks.
Where its inevitable that one of them are ignited (Most mobs die from the Upfront damage alone)

Is it useful on the normal BA Trap though? well.... Kinda?...??

If the additional arrow flies offscreen and ignites a whitepack, they still die... even with point blank.

But it doesnt hurt to have more arrows, and it makes a HUGE difference in the Vaal BA trap

Hope that was informative.

Yeah dude, i totally love Vaal BA, it feels so satisfying to OBLITERATE even map bosses.

Favorite skill in the game. No doubt

Thanks for the explanation. It was very informative. I didn't know it worked with traps :). Anyway I'm going to try your build next league :D
