I know it doesn't work for traps. I just use it for the fire damage. From the testing I've done with it, with a higher phys roll Chin Sol it actually has a higher fire damage-to-reservation ratio than Anger, I think. From when I tested it, it gave slightly more than half the damage of Anger despite reserving less than half of Anger. It allowed me to run Grace+HOA+Vitality, which I found to be a pretty sexy balance.


That being said, I'm pretty hyped for the updated tree. Straight buff to multiple life nodes that we grab, and that new armor ring is tempting as hell.

After playing a dual flame totem and a crit ice shot/puncture build last beyond league I'm looking for a new build for the coming bloodlines league. This BA build may be interesting, especially with the new 1.3 tree.

The updated links posted by others don't seem to work properly so I had a go at a build myself.
Any thoughts?

You have to paste the links into Poebuilder or the offline skill tree, since the main site's tree isn't updated yet.

As for your tree, you don't need the accuracy/mana cost nodes at the start of Marauder. We have Resolute Technique, and Burning Arrow has one of the lowest mana costs in the game. 8% mana cost reduction would drop your trap's cost by a grand total of, like, 1 mana per trap.

Aside from that it looks okay-ish, though I don't agree with some of the rings you're taking and skipping. Rather path through armor than the resist nodes exiting the Mara tree. The build doesn't require any uniques outside of Moukou's and Chin Sol, so overcapping res is already really easy. Path through the 12/4 armor-life hybrid instead of 0.8% regen, and pick up Golem's Blood as you pass it on the way to Point Blank.

Reason I took versatility at the marauder starting area is because it's a good source of dex and int to ensure you can keep levelling up skills with dex/int requirements. Lvl20 BA needs 151 dex and as a marauder it's not that easy to get and you will have to get dex on gear.

Resist nodes can be swapped out later although overcapping is safer in a hc league.

The path to point blank feels a bit inefficient as you are taking a lot of small nodes to get to 50% damage boost. Still, I guess this is where part of the needed dex is also coming from.

- I've specced out of Arsonist in order to take the outer route towards RT and save a few points. The 40% fire damage lost is more than made up by the celestial cluster.

- I've taken a detour to Soul of Steel since a flat 4% physical reduction is too good to miss, which means losing access to Quickness and Hard Knocks.

- The Unrelenting cluster isn't the most life-efficient cycle out there, but the mana cost reduction should actually be useful when running Grace+Anger late game.

- I wasn't too keen on taking all three 8% nodes from the Elementalist cluster, but it's the only way to get Discipline and Training, Amplify, and Devotion at the same time. Alternatively, 3 skill points could be saved by skipping Catalyse and taking a strength node, but that's not very damage efficient.

-Like i explained in my guide, getting dex with this build is insanly hard. i wouldnt skip Quickness(imo). Its one of the things that is better for this build in this tree, the access to more dex.

- With skipping Arsonist you are gaining 1 point of 3% allres and 4% life, i really dislike that node. Arsonist is too good to skip imo, its actually perfect. This build will get to 5,5k hp easy, Having another 1% lifereg is very good for sustain.

Pretty sure I will go for this BA build in bloodlines.

Just put together a ranger tree for this to include some trap nodes so I can put down 5 traps in total.

Critique plz.
What would be better and what worse compared to marauder?
With ondar's and acrobatics nodes you have multiple layers of defense and it solves all dex problems straight away. Also because you are moving around a lot evasion is better than armour right?
