Wanted to try this build out and saw the new skill tree makes it even better!
Nice build Havrd, looks fun. :)

Those Celestial nodes are so nice.
We even get more dex in the tree now, this is so great!!!!

So here's my post-Beyond update: level 84, running grace + anger, now chilling in hardcore.

The build is very efficient, the prolif is insane, defences are solid, etc... Basically, kudos to Havrd for an excellent build.

A few highlights from my personal experience:

- Immunity to reflect, CB, etc is incredibly useful. Traps allow you for a hit-and-run style while the Marauder typing gives you a considerable amount of bulk - you're basically getting the best of both worlds.

- I found myself rarely using Vaal BA: I was doing more than enough damage from my main BA gem, even in 75+ maps. That being said, I was too lazy to get myself a second 5L setup, so I could be underestimating its damage potential. Definitely something to try next league.

- You can run out of traps pretty easily. Against enemies solid enough to withstand 3 BA traps, or against fidgety mobs that don't always trigger your traps, this tends to make your damage intermittent while you wait for your traps to reload. Times like this I wish I'd taken master sapper.

- Getting enough dex while leveling is painful, and it tends to limit gear and crafing choices (a jade ammy with +dex is almost a requirement). With the new tree, though, the build seems to be adjacent to two +30 dex nodes, which should make the whole process much easier.

I've started theorycrafting on the 1.3 tree. Here's the associated URL (updated):

Thanks, im flattered :3

You should really think about investing in anothewr 5L it makes it so you have 6 available traps instead of 3.

The damage potential of Vaal Burning arrow is simply retardedly good, so having it in your build is basically a must for tough mobs and bosses.

The dex problem is real, although it has gotten alot better with this new tree.

I looked at your tree, and youre not getting Resolute Technique, that node is basically mandatory.

Thinking this for 1.3:

http://poeurl.com/y7WRMrM

Skips out on the fire ring above witch in favor of more life/armor/regen.

Also considering this Shadow start, for Clever Construction:

Yup, I forgot to spec into RT. That's three more points that could be taken from some extra life nodes or from the arsonist cycle.

This build doesn't need nearly as many life nodes - it's a trap build, so ideally it won't have to tank anything. And you're passing up on a huge 141% increased fire damage and 10% ignite chance in the witch ring and lava lash nodes. You're going out of your way to take unessential passives (why Master of the Arena?), and some life regen and armor % nodes here and there are superfluous IMO.

1% regen, and it's an intermediary node to reach that nice set of duelist health nodes.

I dunno, builds that can't leech just feel so squishy to me unless they have a bunch of life regen to make up for it. Then again, I guess if I do more damage, I'll take less damage by extension since I don't have to spend as long at each pack.

I guess I'll probably do this then: http://poeurl.com/y7ZWjZ4

I definitely want to run 7 endurance charges. Never done it before, and this tree passes straight by all 3 in the tree. Debating if it'd be worth picking up part of that mana reservation ring by AOF - would be able to stick in an HOA along with Anger and Grace for a nice bit of a damage boost.

Pretty hyped for the tree update tomorrow - I think they're buffing the Marauder start.

Shadow BA's also looking pretty good to me...http://poeurl.com/y7ZY0mY. Hard to choose between.

Herald of Ash does not work with traps sadly.
It is great for leveling though.
