Is melee at a disadvantage?

Melee is right now on a huge disadvantage compared to ranged because there are only 2 viable melee skills and are at best mediocre ( dual strike and molten strike )

-The damage on dual strike is not good enough for the risk of being at melee range with a weapon that is not a dagger.

-Molten strike is an attack / projectile skill but most projectile supports don´n work with it.

Using an hybrid melee / cast on crit build is tedious because due to the default little range on weapons you are forced to get master of the arena, that is on a very unconvenient position unless you are a duelist. That forces you to use the onmipotent ranged attack skill AKA spectral throw.

Melee has only disadvatages compared to other classes, yes. I hope they will do something else with it on next patch, something else more than just buffing the damage, so double strike can be again useful and stop being a noob trap and at the same time make the skills useful for hybrid builds that are more interesting than just hitting with the main weapon, like melee / CoC would be a nice addition to build diversity.

where are you getting this info? double strike with melee splash is the best one-handed skill you can have. i've seen infernal blow, dominating blow, etc in the last 12 hours and they all steamrolled through this game.

i can literally switch to any melee gem i want and it's viable if i tweak minor things. i just dont see how people are complaining about melee.

edit: they should limit arrows' damage to only on-screen enemies

Double Strike + Melee Splash + Multistrike + Added Fire Damage in a BoR

or Double Strike + Melee Splash + Multistrike + Added Fire Damage + Mana Leech + Life Leech if you're a 6L chest with no Soul Taker




you do remember that you're supposed to be running around with 5 other competent people, right? you don't need to flood the screen with flashing lights.

because cookie cutter melee is what makes melee boring lol. I have had a BoR build when it was the cool thing to do that pulled 70K with resolution technique .... dual strike. You are talking about the most boring, regular melee builds there. That is really old.

People stopped making those builds cause are always the same and on a huge disadvantage compared to other classes. You must have been playing this game less than me probably ...

Thing is I would really love melee synergizing better with other playstyles and variations in the game, but it´s retardedly inefficient on its current state. The weapon range by default is really narrow to start with.

Ok melee is at a disadvantage because the need to be at point blank range to attack, that is basically what melee is.
