Have you ever played a better game than this?

Depends how you look at it but Dungeon keeper is my all time best game but that's if your looking at intensity of pleasure while playing and there might even be other games that beat it in that way for me.But POE like D2 has more sustainability for me,can play for many hours without burning out and getting bored,gives a more steady pleasure while playing.I guess in short POE has the best replayability of any game I've ever played(although I did play an awful lot of Dungeon keeper).

It depends, D3 is a better game.. For a few hours ... then POE becomes superior.

Never. I was like 5 when D2 came out so really never tried it. Titan Quest was my first ARPG. Great game. I got Diablo 3 and while I played a lot it always felt rather vapid. Sorta arcade like. Like lightning on weapon meant nothing. Like CC CD IAS AR LIfe was desired on every build, every class, every peice of gear. So Happy I found this game. No Trade finally pushed me out of Diablo. You're a victim of RNG builds with no trade. Min maxing almost impossible.

My only real complaints about this game are slow IAS is not beneficial. Some way they should incorporate Damage over Time damage to be better with slow weapon. So like Dam = 1/IAS. Then people would find use in slow weapon. Making 2 hders viable even desirable.

Another one is drop rates of mats to self craft. I played a long time and only drop 11 exalts. Hardly enough to make a single GG item let alone a full kit. But most ppl have a drop rate complaint...can't please everyone. Expansion seems to go a long way to address this though with masters.

For co-op with friends I'd say POE is my #1 all time. Planning and leveling coordinated parties of complementary characters is amazing in this game.

As a solo game... probably best arpg all time. I can't quite put POE at the top of rpgs, I've got too much love for old 90s ones like Betrayal at Krondor and the Eye of the Beholder series. For all genres... no way, there are tons of amazing single player experience to be had.

I can't compare to competitive games, the experience is too different.

It's hard to define "better game". For me stuff like Doom, Fallout, Half Life, Warcraft (RTS not MMO)... have an eternal pedestal that no other game will ever move.
