Have you ever played a better game than this?

I was 9 when played D1 for the first time, D2 was like eroin; played few other games but none of them is even comparable to this one. Maybe MedianXL get a bit closer, but nothing else comes to my mind, is there something even close to PoE?

You're comparing different type of games or genre?

Better overall game, for me is WoW. I played that game like an addict.

In the arpg genre for me PoE and D3 are pretty much at the top.

Its not an arpg, but yes, EVERQUEST, it used to be a great game, but with so much competition, it really hurt the raiding in the game, which was freaking crazy awesome. the groupping game also took a major hit, but design decisions really hurt that alot also.

I was hooked on Ragnarok Online 1 after I got bored with Diablo 2 (although i'm crying for a remake that remains true to D2's roots).

Deep itemization through card system, tons of classes, tons of GOOD content, and GODLY items possible from Boss monsters and quests.

PVP content was exceptional also, which helped.

RO2 sucks.

Spiritual sequel is in development though, and it looks badass. Forget its name.

I could literally take your post word for word and it would hold 100% true for me.

D2 was great for its time but I play poe more, for longer periods without gettingbored/quitting (as fast, i still need breaks) and come back sooner for new content. The grinding is more fun, building chars is more fun, early game is fun (not simply rushing thru it like d2) end game is more fun.

d2 pvp was more fun but then again I just watched the poe pvp tourney and realized that poe pvp may have potential (though it will never be the same).

Final Fantasy adventure is a better Action RPG for me. The music, the fighting, the style: all were better, but it is a single player game.

D2 and DAoC were slightly better for me but they both were destroyed by their expansions. PoE is actually getting better with each expansion.

Any card game eg. poker

Only Diablo 2 was more enjoyable to me. PoE is the better game on the paper, though, and may get there in practice, too. It's certainly evolving well.
