You're argument couldn't have been much worse and I"m assuming you're talking about the crafting system and not the trade system?

It's not like adults need linear progression and if you want efficient progression you should trade not craft. Most 11 year olds can come up with that, no doubt.

Anyway crafting should change and let's hope it will with the coming expansion, because crafting has the potential to make this game rewarding by playing instead of trading.

+1 for liking trade

I think some people are confusing: (1) the lack of a trade system with (2) the act of trading. I think most of us can agree that selling an item that you found to someone else that needs it, in return for stuff that you need is quite fun. It makes your loot-hunting feel worthwhile.

Now, the lack of proper tools to conduct trades is what a lot of people are frustrated about. When we want to actually trade, we either have to spam Trade Chat, the Noticeboard, or search a 3rd-party site (poe.xyz). This makes trading feel like a chore. If the trading infrastructure were improved to allow more efficient communication between buyers & sellers, I think more people would realize that they don't actually hate trading; they just hate the hoops that you had to jump through in order to trade.

If you guys want a good example of what absolutely no trading in an ARPG is like, give D3: Reaper of Souls a try. All items are account-bound, and loot just feels worthless.

It's hard to call what's available a systematic form of crafting. Gambling plays a major role in this game and it's quite punishing overall.

Not really. Some people hate trade because they think it circunvents the RNG, so it's "easy mode" (reading a lot, I think that's bullshit). Others hate to study economy in a RPG (fair point). And then there are those who hate everything outside trading (I feel trolled by orb crafting, so I can understand).
