I enjoy the trading system, economy is FINE (NOT A TRADER), I enjoy the crafting system

There are several niches yet to be used. I am rather successful with my fusing service for 5L's.

I cant tell u how badly i disagree! :)

P.S. i hope its understandable. im pretty tired... so #twoff :)

Well, you tell me later then, :P

I don't think the niches are as evident as in real life or games like Eve Online, though. We have some service providers, and farmers...aaaaaaand that's all. Maybe farming should be more diverse? More affixes and real crafting? More optional bosses that make impossible for people to conquer it all?

The central limit theorem is much more stable than u think ;)

maybe we have a "fat tail" of rich people

maybe the wealth distribution it self isnt gaussian through the feedback mechanism scrotie described.

But u first have to show me symmetrybreaking elements here.

I can't quantify, but I've described them in other posts. Mostly: systemic failures. People desire the same things, so eventually competence fucks everyone at the same time. Poor taxation on wealth means some people get too powerful, and that feels shitty for everyone else and boring for those at the top unless they are going for challenges; they control markets for the powerful items, and combined with inflation makes the things worse for the rest (unwittingly). External factors (poor RNG seeds, who knows?).

It's perfect competence for those who struggle and oligopolies for those at the top.

Not everyone circunstances are similar, so the simetry breaks apart.

@niches: In general terms "Insurance"

U have a average cost of crafting a 2/3/4.. top tier item.

On rings u cant decide per se which combination is superior to another. so if u just produce all possible combinations, u can sell the rings for a bit higher than the average crafting costs of a similar rare roll. If u take the demand into account u should be able to set a profitable price for crafter and buyer.

And moreover: its a way to democratize roll crafting since one dont have to dismiss items which are valued high by other players.

True: that will only work for rings and ammus

That's really interesting. :)
How many people could make the same service until it stops being profitable?

I cant do it neither :D

But i think we can agree upon the "rich part" of the distribution. its an strong decay.

At the moment it seems, there arent enough demand for even one provider :D

Im in for 150 rings now.... and only sold 2 of them. (started a few days ago http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/396735
I rather dont know how to etablish such a "service" since many people think crafting is impossible and not rewarding. And random drops selled at more or less random prices are a problem to when it comes to reasonable pricing.

But for the 5L market i have a steady income for me and plenty "happy" costomers. Even had a competitor in ambush. But we didnt compete rather than formed a middle-aged guild

I do not believe there is a concentrated amount of players attempting to manipulate the economy, but if I am wrong, I certainly believe they are incapable of doing so. They can inflate prices though.

But to the overall point of the economy being fine... no. It most certainly is not fine.

I enjoyed the feel of the game from the moment I was exiled on a shore. Talk to survivor, survivor dies, you are all alone. Very much the same feeling I felt with the Demon/Dark Souls series.

You are all alone, and the only defense you have is what you can find. But to read that people feel the need to trade just to beat the game in normal mode? Absurd. I know from personal experience beating the game on normal is quite easy without a unique, or even a rare. But if others are needing assistance, then what happened to the mention of making the game more appealing and easy access to newcomers? What information has been added to help them in game?

This company has consistently shown they are more than willing to allow all information regarding mechanics, stats, and even trading to be handled by people outside of the company.

Crafting is a joke. Using third party sites to organize trades is a joke. The problem is, it just isn't funny. The quaint little company they is laboring over an unforeseen gem has long sailed. Feigning ignorance is no longer accepted. Free to play or not. Too many of you are too smart to keep eating the **** they serve and allowing them to cover problems with more **** that will only exasperate the original problem.

Sorry this was longer than intended, but watching this tumor get misdiagnosed visit after visit is maddening.

*This is not a direct response to any before me, just my general view on the issue. Sorry if I misdirect the intended purpose of the topic or offend anyone.

You have offended everyone. Specially me. Omae wa mou shindeiru!!

I accumulated some wealth through this...

In general my experience in gaining wealth: the guy who smartly uses the orb is the rich guy. The people who just farm for them are ... drones.
