Dominus is to hard for melee characters

Killed him on Cruel with 4L Sweep (so ads were of no problem) and 4L Heavy Strike. Leap Slam from time to time just in case. Dominus was stunned most of the time.

Some of the gear (mace most important) was obtained on poe.xyz. If this is not an option then yes, there may be problems.

Get a better mace. Yours looks not much better than a Geofri's Baptism, and that's lvl 27.
Get movement speed on your boots, and one of the nodes that removes movement penalties from armor. That alone will do wonders for your survival.

Enfeeble, to reduce your incoming damage.

Every flask should have remove bleeding just for him alone. I kept putting off making boss specific flasks until now. They really do help.

Yes this exactly. Mobility is critical. You're wearing big heavy armor that slows you down and you have no runspeed on your boots. You probably can't move fast enough to outrun the light of divinity/touch of god. It probably doesnt help with his stream of ghosts attack either.

There are some other things you could have done to make life easier on yourself but the move speed issue is absolutely critical.
The OP's gear is fine. It's his tactics that aren't working.

First, if you're struggling with the ads, consider either
A) using groundslam
or
B) adding melee splash gem

Having inherent AOE on your primary attack enables you to focus the boss while killing other monsters around you. Also, attacking faster is better than attacking slower (leech, etc) Captain Obvious says add faster attacks gem.

Also, 2800 life is fine, and very very good for cruel. I have characters in endgame with less life than that (mid 70's chars) who can map easily and the like.

The big thing here is your tactics:
1) you should never take a touch of god. The animation and sound clip are really obvious, and the AoE isn't that big, and there's a rather long delay. as soon as he starts it, walk (or leap slam) away to avoid the hit, then go back in.

2) You're not meant to tank the lightning stream. Use one of the walls (northeast, southwest areas) to break his line of fire and then go back in and keep hitting him when it's done.

3) Don't stand in the Freezing Bond totems' beams. If he drops these just leapslam, in your case, out of the beams and then kill a totem or wait till he moves to hit him again.

4) Try to avoid standing in the shocked ground when he blinks on you. 40% more damage is not fun.

Be patient and DO NOT facetank phase 1. You will die.

Dom first phase is a skill check. Dom 2nd phase is a gear check.

That said, for phase 2, keep a portal on hand to refill your flasks by going to town and don't be afraid to mash them. Phase 2 (unlike phase 1) is meant to be face tanked. Make sure you have at least 1 remove bleed flask.

Again, having AoE on your primary skill helps a ton to kill the mobs. I can't emphasize this enough.

I soloed dom on cruel with a freeze pulse scion using these tactics with around 1500 life and didn't die and had to port to town once during 2nd phase, if you need a little perspective.

Why exactly aren't you using melee phys dmg gem?
Change your Weapon Ele to Melee Physical Damage, please.
"I accept Nujabes as my Savior."
Another thing that makes 2nd stage dom a lot easier is to slip on a ring (or two if you have them) with 2% (or more) life leech. Blue rings are fine, and the other ring stats aren't too important as the main idea is to replace the life he bleeds out of your character.

Check the vendors as you're leveling. The ladies will quite often showcase some handy encounter specific blues.

Best of luck in your adventures, exile!

If he didn't desync he'd be super easy and you could kill him with 500 hp pool. But the desync makes kiting nearly impossible. And that's the most difficult thing about dominus.

^This, there is no point in learning the mechanics when he one-shot desyncs you.

Allowing domiNOES to blink and then follow up with a touch of god immediately is stupid at best given the current state of the game.

I'll repeat what many others said. You just need movement speed and knowledge of the fight then you can breeze through the first form.

The 2nd form is more of a gearcheck for melee characters but not a huge one. You just need appropriate flasks for it(staunching).
