PoE vs Diablo 2 aka Your opinion on PoE

You can build any way you please - after the very first one which is likely going to be crap anyway. Save the gems/items/orbs you get until you know what you're doing more. By the time you even have a build figured out - unless you're copying someone else's build - you'll have everything you need and then some. I don't see the problem here. Personally - I just think you're trolling, but meh.

Personally I have played since the closed beta, I have my build figured out.
I just don't like the fact that I have rely on loot to make it work.

I wish active skills where a separate, elaborate tree with set rules and no randomness, just like the passive tree. And gem slots could have a different purpose - one that has less to do with the build and more to do with useful stats.
Beta is the correct word you used....The plan for this game is to have 10 Acts with no replay content with your character, unless you make a new one of course. The difficulty system will be taken out...You are only touching the service, once you get to the higher lvls and maps it is just that much better...It starts a bit slow like any ARPG does....

It seems to me so many people dont like change in games. People just want the same game over and over again with better graphics...PoE imo is trying to change the way ARPG's are and give you something completely different. You can never change the hack and slash aspect of a ARPG, but loot, currency, spells, passive tree you can, and PoE did just that...I wanted something different in the ARPG would and this is it. The game is not even close to being finished and everyone needs to understand that. But dont expect it to become what D2 was or bring the same old concepts of the past. If you decide then that this isnt what your looking for, well thats fine. At least you didnt have to pay a dime for it.

Ummm ... yes? I've done it.

So you have EVERY combination of skill + support gem for every possible guild? Because that is exactly what you stated in your post ("you'll have everything you need").
Cool thing, just don't lie anymore please.

POE is the greatest ARPG ever made not even D2 come close. POE got so much more depth then D2

Yeah, I kinda want to build my character the way I want, and not for the game to build my character for me in a random way.

Can you please stop with your opinion? You're wrong, and we proved you wrong in your complaining thread a few days back...
I thought we were over this. I'll bring up my old argument again. PoE is still very young game. There aren't many items around for trading yet. When Diablo 2 came out, many builds weren't viable because they would rely on items that weren't around for trading. In 2-3 months, when people have a nice stockpile of items, all your "One spell with 7 million support gems" builds will work very easy. Now all you need to do is just stockpile valuable items to trade when what you need is found by someone.
The game, just like Diablo 2's intricate builds, is not about playing alone. Trading is vital part if you want a very specific build.

I don't know how come in D2 trading was the accepted way of obtaining items and here it seems like it's not. Why everyone on this forum assumes you have to farm for all items you need? The game is not designed that way. L2play.
Games were better when devs didn't listen to player feedback.
@RobotPanda Of course I know that ONE day I will make my build work, it's inevitable.

BUT you can't compare diablo loot to this game. There was no such loot in diablo without which I couldn't level a fireball for example.

So .. you were talking about making every build ever thought of all at once? Go troll elsewhere.
In other games - you get a cookie whether you win or lose. PoE not only takes your cookie and eats it in front of you, it slaps you upside the head a few times for bringing a cookie in the first place.

Of course not. Stop with the strawman arguments already. The game has been OB for what? Just over a week now?

Moving on....

I think the builds requiring specific uniques will take time to do.I think any build purely dependent on skill gems and supports could be done pretty quick.

The thing is you can use alternative skills and supports, like use a different missile support or a different elemental aura or a different elemental spell etc. Then when you don't want to level anymore till you get the specific gems just build something else and put that on hold.
I find this method works out really well, during the building of a second character I find stuff that helps my first character sometime actually from the quest rewards.
