PoE vs Diablo 2 aka Your opinion on PoE

Thanks for the answer but I'm still not really smarter than before. I mean sure, 5 acts > 3 acts in numbers but I would also like to know how big these acts are. Then you mention the amount of difficulties, PoE has three of them too. And the last part I don't really understand since you can't really determine how many char builds can beat merciless in PoE and even if D2 wins in that department, it could just mean that it is an easier game? D2 was and still is an amazing game. Pre LoD wasn't even that bad. It did decline with botters and dupers but that certainly didn't stop it from being amazing. I have never spent as much time on a game as I did d2. So my opinion is probably biased. But PoE is awesome, thought it certainly hasn't reached the level of D2 yet. I hope one day it will. But it won't be soon. I love GGG and what they're doing. But only a deluded fanboy would say in its current state that it is better then D2. Lets just be happy it's better than D3

POE is good but Diablo 2 is the best

In Diablo 2, you can beat hell NAKED - you don't get gear checked every 5 minutes like in PoE or Diablo 3, you can make up for items with tactic.
To be honest, naked is only possible as sorc/necro as far as I know - but a party with 8 naked chars can clear anything with tactic on HC (8-man party naked beat Übertrist).

D2 is not easy if you play selffound. It's even harder because you can't switch from melee to range with the skill tree, sure you can pick up a bow but you have no bow skills then with a barb.

And you have the choice to go pure tank/damage/whatever % you like - and you're not fucked up as melee like in PoE at the moment.

I feel like we should wait until this game is launched before comparing. And didnt they say they had new animations that were supposed to be out before open beta?

btw why devs call version 0.10 a beta? shouldn't it be an early alpha or something like that?
