Ok i'll stay on the point
Thread title: Would anyone be against selling chaos orbs on GGG's shop? (For convenience)
Yes, i would be against because is what the sooo hated RMT sites are doing on daily basis.

You, Sir, have no idea what you're talking about. (Lessons in maths/probability calculation needed I suppose). NOTHING is guaranteed. Well, except for this thread being useless, maybe. Sigh.
With finite rolls you have finite chance for getting what you want. 5000000000000000000000000000000000 rolls would probably be around 99,999999999% chance of rolling great shit. Enough? That is the whole point - the more you spend, the higher chance of getting good shit you get. And this is why giving these chances for money IS p2w.
Nope.jpg
There is no "higher chance" in an RNG dictated mod rolling system.
I am not saying the chances are not in your favor. I am saying they are not guaranteed.
Which is the basis of this thread.
One could buy 5000000000000000000000000000000000 chaos orbs like you mention, and yield nothing from them. (the chances are unlikely like you mention, but not guaranteed)
Just like somebody could purchase 1 chaos orb and have a top-tier rolled rare.
Basically how the game functions atm.
Simply put, you are missing the point.
If the result was guaranteed i would agree with you, like for example the RNG removing a
mod-tier every time it is rolled on a single item.
But since it is not.
Nope.jpg
Edit : as for the OP, yes i would be against it. :)

yeah let's destroy the game, if this were implemented the economy on every single league would tank. nobody would play.

So it seems that for this forum:
RMT sites selling chaos orbs = Pay to win
GGG selling chaos orbs = Commodity
Mh
ok
According to basic equation and anti RMT forum posts, we can safely assume that buying any orb from RMT sites is considered pay to win.
Since chaos orbs are orbs, they fall in this category
This said, we can safely assume that purchasing chaos orbs from any source can be considered Pay to win too
Since GGG falls in "another source" category, purchasing orbs from them can be considered Pay to win

Chaos orbs do not give you means of winning poe, you will still need to play the game and get the high ilvl items to craft them. And even if you bought them with chaos orbs, everything stay locked by RNG you can't be sure you are going to get the mods you need on your items.
Exalted orbs are easily obtainable by doing the chaos recipe, just go to Fellshrines and kill every rare or unique monster or boss. You will have 100% chance of doing the recipe at least once a day.
If you pay money and support poe you would acquire these chaos orbs easier or faster and you would not win anything in the end since chaos orbs never made someone level 100 or gave him 8/8 challenges.
Would you pay guys for this kind of monetizable convenience?
Chaos do not give you means of winning poe? How about a gazillion of chaos traded for a gazillion of exalts and eternals and then crafted into BIS gear in each slots? That does make you winning poe.

Why do people still reply to this thread. C'mon, let's stop commenting and it will go away from the first page.

It would destroy the economy and it's an aspect of the game, of course (I don't trade myself). On the other hand, in this game you can't really win (or everybody wins given time). If climnbing the ladder adds a competitive aspect for some people, orbs could be sold in legacy leagues and that would be out of the equation. I think that buying orbs destroys the fun of this kind of games, if everything is available, what's the point in killing monsters? BUT that's my opinion, I wouldn't oppose if other people prefer that way of progressing

Pay GGG to give me the currency to give me the adequate rare to beat the game and shorten the life span of the game?

Indeed would you pay for a chaos orb effect? Your item get the effect but you don't get the chaos orb!

As you can see, regret orbs are already being sold here.
Not sure if that's a genuine website or just a knockoff of GGG's.
Either way, I don't see why GGG would say:

GGG Passive Skill Tree wrote:
This is Path of Exile's passive skill tree. It is a vast web of 1350 skills that provide passive bonuses to your character. Each time you level up or complete certain quests, you can allocate a skill and explore deeper into the tree. All character classes share the same tree, but start at different locations that are aligned with their primary specialties. You're able to either focus on improving your core abilities or travel across the tree to allocate exotic skills that your class normally wouldn't have access to.
Alongside the regular passive skills are Notable and Keystone passives. Notables have slightly larger icons, specific names and larger effects. They help guide players to build their characters on a macro level, allowing them to see at a glance what a cluster of passives skills does by examining its Notable passive. Keystone passives, however, fundamentally change the way a character is played by altering the game rules. They usually have one positive effect and one negative effect. For example, Necromantic Aegis takes away the properties of your shield, granting them to your minions instead of to you.
If you want to adjust your passive build during gameplay, there are Passive Skill Refund points available from quests or relatively rare items in the game that can be found or traded for. Fixing mistakes with a character build or improving small-medium sized aspects is relatively easy, but our intention is that players who want to try substantially divergent character builds are encouraged to play a new character through the game, organically leveling it up rather than just respeccing into it.
This page allows you to experiment with character builds by planning their passive skill trees. Once you're done planning a build, you can show other players by giving them the link that is generated below. We recommend using this page in Full Screen mode (press F).
...and then add in a full passive respec MTX.
Likely that the website you linked is a bullshit knockoff.
Looked through to page 4 and just about everyone is taking the same stance. You might want to realize this, VaultsInex.

The site is legit alright. Garena, a company that has their own PoE servers for a part of the asian market introduced the Passive respec mtx a short while back. But the garena servers don't have any influence on the normal GGG servers.
