Path of Trading milestone achieved: "price" feature implemented in poe.xyz.is
" There are literally hundreds of alpha howls for sale between 4 and 5 ex. If what you said was true, there wouldn't be any alphas on the forums for 4 ex. They would be instantly bought by a flipper. i use a secret account because i am a politician that doesnt want the NSA to know i play poe.

alphas run out by people buying them and equipping them on their character and not reselling them
alphas are produced by people finding them my milk comparison stands. alpha is a fundamental unique and people are constantly refreshing xyz for deals. if the true price was far less, they would be listed for far less. Last edited by Veruski#5480 on Apr 30, 2014, 12:48:10 PM

Now remember I agree with you on the price of Alphas but I think you seem to have a flaw in your comparison.
Milk is a controlled product while Alpha isn't. People "finding" them are not "producing" them. Also, equipping them does not make it a consumable. Under your logic, farmers walk around and suddenly finds milk and someone will buy it and wear it as a body garment and therefore consuming it. Your milk comparison is bad and you should feel bad. To make a good comparison to a real life item you must find an item that is 1) not a controlled product 2) remains in circulation 3) holds its value while aging Last edited by radmanvr#3083 on Apr 30, 2014, 1:00:30 PM

" No, your comparison is not stands. L2basiceconomictheory. Alphas is a positional good. Milk is not. Alphas has a different income elasticity of demand than milk does. #rekt i use a secret account because i am a politician that doesnt want the NSA to know i play poe.

" I see, we have resorted to comparing pixels with real life products... |

lol
any time somebody says "l2economics" or something similar, it is nearly 100% likely that the most they know about economics is a few tidbits from a terrible high school course, and browsing wikipedia a bit. the only thing i was pointing out with the milk comparison is that a product being listed in multiple different places, at the same price, can often just be assumed to cost that much, rather than there being an even cheaper version somewhere else. and yes, items are produced in ARPG's by finding them. that's how they get made. (also, pixels are a real life thing. they aren't mystical/magical pixels. they are real pixels, that exist in the real world, that were manufactured by real people) Last edited by Veruski#5480 on Apr 30, 2014, 1:29:48 PM

" If you don't like it then maybe you should follow some economic courses yourself. i use a secret account because i am a politician that doesnt want the NSA to know i play poe.

Just because the tag on xyz was changed, doesn't mean people will automatically agree on trading etiquette or values. Path of Trading will always be relevant don't follow all this trading and self found drama. Should just spend more time learning the game and the market.

You see... Ebay has this thing called "Buyout Only", and that's the main thing most people use.
