From a buyout, not a price. Talking about that fourth word...

In Auction terminology, from which the term "buyout" comes, it is not a "set price", it is the magnitude at which you automatically win the auction.

Of course, due to there not being any real tool for setting fixed prices, some people wrongly used "b/o" as fixed price. Now the tool exists, you can just set use the price tag :). For actual buyouts, the old b/o tag works like it should.

I do not haggle. Period.

I list a buyout. If people message me and offer less, I just firmly tell them that I do not haggle.

If nobody buys it at the given price, I will reduce the buyout a bit and wait more. Eventually, everything sells.

All without haggling.

There is a certain type of person who will offer 75% of your asking price, no matter how cheap/reasonable your price is. I hate people like that, and this system does a pretty good job at making their efforts useless.

I mean, fuck. Some people, you could offer to sell them a mirror for 10c, and instead of taking it, they will offer 7c + 1 fus.

Edit:

another pet peeve is the people who just want to know what is in your stash. you offer to sell chromes at a set price, and somebody says "how many do you have?"

so obnoxious. either buy chromes or don't. if i don't have enough to fill your order, i'll tell you that. but there's no reason people need to be asking about what's in my stash.

Which price are you having an issue with? Alphas sells all day for 4.5ex.

If by sell, you mean pile up, then yeah, sure. There are 70+ listed for 4 exalts or more, this means they are absolutely NOT worth 4 exalts, no one is buying them.

Meh that's true to an extent. It could be that the supply is higher than the demand
so i went to the grocery store to buy milk

it was listed at $2.19 for a half gallon.

i say fuck, that's expensive. so i went to another grocery store. it was also $2.19

clearly this means milk doesn't sell for $2.19. i tried to explain this logic to the store manager. he wouldn't haggle with me. i thought this was rude. clearly he should understand that if everybody is selling their milk at $2.19 per half gallon, and that there is all this milk in the store, that it must be worth less.

he would not bite. he told me that the price is firm. i left in a rage.

what a stupid asshole. he doesn't even realize that if two people are selling the same thing for the same price, and there are multiples in stock, it can't be worth that! it has to be worth less!

gah! why won't the world twist to fit my desires!

Could be a mentality thing. For example, if you want to sell something to an Arab for 50 cents, he will still haggle with you x) Not because it's too expensive, but on principle.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Being a buyer more than a seller I prefer when there is a BO its just easier to say I got the money, you got that stuff?

I hate it when they don't list a price and ask you to offer and you're like 20 alts and their like lolwhatnoobroflmao don't try and low ball me and then you're like well how much do you want and they're like offer and you proceed to up your offer. 21 alts.... Lolwhatnoobroflmao

I need I buy I don't have time to track what is popular and what cost what

It's one thing to offer 20 exalts for an item with a 23 exalt buyout. It's another to randomly offer 2 chaos for something listed at 4 chaos.

I'm not trying to message you back and forth over 2 chaos, either take it or don't.

Wow, douchebaggery much? The other player is entitled to valueing the item in his own way. If you don't like it then just stop trading bro. And if you don't want to message back and forth over 2 chaos, just accept his offer and sell the item for 2 chaos. People can be so mean to each other sometimes.

While I agree with your real life example I don't think it applies to this game. Milk is a product that is produced as well a consumable. Once it runs out it needes to be replenished by the user.

Alphas do not need to be replenish nor are they produced.
