Don't play standard then. I also made the wrong investment in that league. What used to be worth a fortune in beta is now just simple pocket change. The market will only get worse as that league drags on. Just leave standard.

The problem is, people aren't just leaving standard, they're leaving the game instead. I blame GGG for creating the situation that currently is. The game is focused for 3 month leagues, which almost guarantees most of the community quits at the end of the new leagues after they figure out how bad standard is, and then they ask themselves "Is it worth doing all this over again to be in the exact same position with the next char I make?" - bullshit. The game needs to be centered around permanent leagues or few people are going to stick around.
Them most sad part of this story is that certain top-end sellers cant show a bit of respect to buyers, and polite explain "offer is too low for me" instead of ignoring/insulting. I have mirrored item myself, but i never ignored or insulted customers intentionally. I believe, people should keep good manners.

Its your own fault if you dont find the game enjoyable without trading. I dont trade that much so i never buy stuff for 500 EX, who cares? And who can control the prices, its a free market where players make the prices so you had to know early on how the prices would look later.
I just don't understand it with the 2 mirrors in your possession, what's the problem to farm Uber Atziri for yourself ???

Or are you just trading and not playing actually the game? :-)
MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!

Actually the economy in standard is quite stable and surprisingly good. Good items are quite easy to come by. BiS items are pricy but with sufficient dedication they are obtainable. And most importantly: it is possible to sell average gear that you find while mapping on a regular basis. So far the economy in standard is far better than in any other ARPG I have played (well, to be honest that is D2 and D3 ;)).

Cheers

I blame the ones who made the game the way it is instead. They centered this game around trading, otherwise they'd break down and actually make a SFL. I'd enjoy this game more if it was single player offline. The economy is totally fubar in this game. You cannot have a successful game long term if you put an emphasis primarily on temporary leagues. Eventually the lack of new players coming to the game is going to happen after PoE gets a flurry of scathing reviews put out on the internet.

The problem in standard is most of the BiS items don't drop anymore.

Well I play on a laptop and it gets really bad whenever theres much action going on..Also Im on wireless 3rd world country internet.

And to be honest I've never ranked very high in the 'skill' category in these games lol..always stuck in the average...I always got pawned in the D2 pvp too sadly lol. Although Im proud I was able to do uber's in D2...good times :)

And in response to the above poster^^Ya I was surprised of the stability of the Standard economy myself after the domination merge. I've been there this entire season and its not much different from then end of a league--I forget I'm there. And for that I have much respect for GGG-I heard they have masters in economics in the development and it shows I think.

yes, yes, currently I suppose it could be an accurate price but my post is a warning for the future because the rich get richer..and that's rich enough to corner this market so lets not raise the roof for ourselves ;)

Also the fact that my offer is refused in such manner is a blatant display of elitism..not going to say who but I think its the leader of that one 'cosmic' guild you see running around like they think theyre the next [GoD] or something :P

Thanks for your contribution

I've seen many "poor" elitists thinking they know the market so well and not even bothering to reply as a common courtesy. It has nothing to do with how rich one is, it has everything to do with how self-centered one is. A poor man can be extremely self-centered.

Sellers and buyers of all wealth categories behave in that way. It is not something that only "rich" sellers invented, lol.

Exactly. Most of the best items have already been dropped or crafted, you cant get bis items anymore. Mfing on standart is pointless now.
