Poe XYZ Broke the trade

I was playing this game before poe.xyz existed and it was a nightmare. Searching for items on the forums took more time than actually playing the game. The only advantage of it was stumbling onto an amazing item and buying it cheap because nobody else had managed to dig deep enough to find it.

You can say the same thing about any mechanic that some people use better than others.

As the playerbase becomes more powerful, through whatever means, the game is re-balanced to suit the majority. New players have a harder time catching up. Generally at that point new players are given better newbie gear to compensate.

Trading/Build knowledge/XP/monster knowledge/Skills in general all take time to accumulate, and provide an advantage in game over a 'newbie'.

My generation: Hey people who use deoderant get hotter chicks in the club, better go buy some deoderant.

New generation: Deoderant is unfair, make deoderant illegal. Whine about evil corporations who make deoderant for evil money.

The most enjoyable games tend to avoid nerfing if at all possible, and instead rely on buffing to alter player behavior. If a nerf occurs, it's targeted at a specific problem, not a global lowering of overall power. From what I've seen, GGG creates uniques that some players can nearly 'break the game' with, and then nerfs the passive tree or a skill to bring things in line, affecting everyone, regardless of their gear.

Not sure what deodorant has to do with anything.

GGG has done nothing wrong in the game balance department. This is just generic whining that accompanies EVERY game in this regard. Player-hating. Hence the lame club-deoderant analogy.

GGG's real issue is they're a small company with super-bright game designers, but they cant churn out endless content like a multi-billion $$ company can. So people get bored, but they will come back imho.

It's not a 'problem' in my book. You just gotta deal. You can watch 2 seasons of the gervais's 'the office' or u can watch 10 seasons of the american version.. They're both good in their own ways.

To go back to the original purpose of the thread, people think u can just 'wish' an auction-house into existence. I personally know WoW had 1-2 auction house related dupes, that weren't common knowledge. And even if they could make one, they have to consider all the other ramifications.

The big problem with any trading system is that the people who are abusing the game in order to generate a irl income make it very difficult for the people using the system as a part of playing the game itself.

so a few mistakes? out of 1000's of balance decisions? OK crown of eyes is kinna ridiculous too. But still, few mistakes, and they corrected them fairly quickly.

And if the game is THAT easy where's all the level 100s?

you mean calling kids smelly whiners and player-haters was trolling???
I would never!

I apologize for the lame analogy.

And i do know that really uptight internet people are very open with analogy interpretation, and spelling, and grammer too. And hence using those venues to troll would be 100% ineffective also.

There wouldn't be any trade in this game without XYZ in the first place, so no.

I laughed my ass off at this ridiculous comment.
Remember when I won a screenshot contest and made everyone butt-hurt? Pepperidge Farm remembers.
This thread's time has come. Like the SFL or desync threads before it, it has become a breeding ground for suffering and insipidness. It is beyond saving and must be allowed to die.

This is the most important function of the League of Moderators. It is one they've performed since the start of Open Beta. This thread... must be locked.
Spoiler
Don't you kind of wish GGG staff would add posts like this to threads when they perform their duties?
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
