It's actually possible to get 1 million tooltip DPS on Discharge if you go a Glass Cannon build grabbing nothing but DPS nodes, dualwielding Void Batteries, and possibly getting the Endurance/Frenzy Charge corrupted Implicit Mods...

Just saying..

Though self-casted Discharge, even when it 1-shots everything, is clunky and sucks. :S

Well 95% of the game is wiping through seething masses of monsters, and the broken way LMP CoC Spectral Throw scales with that is incomparable. That it costs you +0 zero mana for each Spell "Support" you add is just gravy.

When it comes to 1v1 single target DPS, yeah it is inferior. But that would be the same as using a LMP Lightning Arrow to kill one guy. I've seen that in pug's too many times to count, and I imagine the Virgin Mary has run out of tears for such people.

agreed here. I have never been a fan of lightning warp, it feels clunky and unintuitive to me. Furthermore, the necessity for good amount of attack speed to make leapslam and whiriling actually faster than just running, leave me wanting skill designed to get my caster out of harms way. Quartz flasks were a big boon to self casting imo, especially with the 'cast now and wait for something to happen' clunkiness attached to several of the spells.

Spectral Throw isn't broken, not when compared to a Barrage Bow CoC build..

@LostForm, a 20/20 Lightning Warp linked with 20/20 Faster Casting and 20/20 Reduced Duration is practically instant, aside from the slight delay after the teleport finishes.

I wonder how many selfcasters with (ranged spell) got that atziri helmet mtx. Must be much balanced, wow such design.

CoCS is a outrageous mechanic exposing severe issues with current spell-casting systems

with my meh daggers and lvl65 char i already outdps my dedicated self-caster


all people claiming that single target is a problem - well.. you have remaining slots to spec into a single target skill, like bear trap or crit-flicker or just whatever. with elemental auras i think these daggers shall still dish serious damage with some elemental nodes that ill take anyway.

because i dont have 5L volls i have whirling blades with pcoc + cocs + ek to generate and maintain power charges (with good crit im maxed with one dash)

most hilarious build ive ever had. after maxing out on crit entire gear is all about survival

all for 20 mana. this is what shocked me after playing this - no resource management whatsoever.
this gem should be '100% MORE cost per spell cast' and it still would be not enough

Tanky self-cast flameblast here, no problem whatsoever in the DPS department...

map bosses = get 2 shot unless they are ele-resist

Everyone knows CoC is broken, a nerf was expected when new leagues started but somehow it didn't happen. Can't balance casters with CoC in mind because obviously it will get nerfed in some way - sooner or later.

They've been buffing certain spells now and then - Incinerate, Firestorm, Fireball twice - they seem to be very cautious with that though.
