There is nothing hardcore about PoE

I love how people think they know for sure what people think. Tell me Aristotle, in which world is this implication always true : "You put money on a game, therefore you think the game and yourself are hardcore" ? I'll tell you : your own world only. [Removed by Support]

Lots of stuff

Dude. PoE is hardcore at least for people like me. It has subtle build options by using the classic RPG elements of a character card - your stats and effects. That you manipulate to make something you enjoy playing. You can learn stuff about the game's mechanics and throw lots of other things into the mix - Flasks, Auras, Unique's effects - and come up with all sorts of stuff.

So yes - there's stuff you can carefully setup. And then there are your tactics to exploit your builds benefits and to protect your character from the build's weaknesses.

So you get a fairly deep RPG build going on. But then get to deploy that in a more arcade like ARPG play mode. That's kinda nice to see.

I love it, (as you can tell from the things I'm saying). I also find the game quite hard. Not impossible - but hard in places to hold it all together and succeed. It is sufficiently difficult for me to have needed to come to these forums to ask for help!

I'm not a L33t gamer. But my first thoughts playing PoE were that the game was a blast of fresh air and that it was harsh.

You are obviously a pretty f'ing good gamer. Maybe you could try playing some more difficult builds? Like a glass cannon - because this game favours survival over DPS in my opinion - or maybe I'm not good enough to not have massive amounts of surviavability?

Laters!

Dont get me wrong, im not bashing on casual players that thinks poe is HARD, see what i did here? i didnt incorporate core, because someone that is Hardcore is someone with above average playerskill if you incorporate thousands of average playerskill gamers in the calculation, people need to realise the difference between hard and hardcore.

When someone says something is hard in a game that is a personal opinion which would fit your situation better.

When someone says that something is hardcore that means that they know that only a a handful of players with the skill-level required to beat it can actually beat it.

Thats what im doing, im playing a 1,6k ( GASP!? Someone that doesnt play with 3,5k+ hp in merc 72+ maps!? That is impossible!!, no its absolutely possible ) glasscannon crit/phys ranger with my own build. When im playing this way i can atleast get a feeling that the game is difficult at times but its a hell of alot more fun to decimate everything rather than standing there semi afk through a generic path of health node build or a fully afk RF build.
( Who in the right mind actually thinks that standing in a group of enemies just burning them down is fun? )
Do we really need another one of these threads?

Lol, I love watching the newest "rhetoric" that spews on this forum.

Recently within the last month or so everyone has been complaining about drop rates (which has been going on for a while) but this time they used the term "carrot on a stick".

Now I see lots of people slamming supporter calling us wallet warriors.

Hive mind is an interesting thing to observe. Oh by the way, you are not hardcore OP.

But seriously, someone had it right when they said video games in general are not hardcore. Go brag about your PC playing skills at your workplace, see how much recognition you get.

Im basing my statements on what ive read on poe:s forum and reddit subforum. I hardly see anyone that says poe is hardcore unless they have supporter titles, now, i often see people WITH supporter titles saying poe is hardcore.

If you didnt know that already its common that people defend whatever they spend a considerable amount of money on, both in real life and in the virtual world.

Dont get me wrong, i have no issue with people supporting games by donating money for further development, ive done that multiple times in other games because i enjoy them.

I have a issue with people who thinks their word is the final word just because they have a 100 dollar supporter title smacked below their forumname, and this happens ALOT in poe and reddit forums. They need to get of their high horses.

This thread is like playing PoE, a waste of time. :)

@op hardcore has many different meanings, and every body apply's his own meaning to it depending on context. You are 100% correct from your point of view. However don't force your opinions on the entire community, nobody like that :).

Some will agree with you

Some will disagree with you

And i'm fucking glad it is like that or it would be fucking boring on these forums and the feedback would be horrible.

Edit : Lmao I_NO hes trying to catch you!

" This thread is like playing PoE, a waste of time. :) " Your absolutely right, just like every other post in general discussion. Thats why i made this thread in the general discussion because i know it has nothing in it that can actually help the devs polish their own game. I posted it in here just to went and get my opinion out there and see if people agree or disagree with me.

Im not here to start a fight, although i may come across as someone who does, but thats just how i am, i can come across as agressive in first sight.

" Edit : Lmao I_NO hes trying to catch you! " Dont tell her what im trying to accomplish..shh!

I haven't really seen people saying directly "I'm a xxx supporter, so my opinion is most valuable than yours". What I however often see is :

- People with no forum titles that bitch about supporters (I've read things like "omg is it going to be the first time I'll agree with a supporter ?"), as if the opinion of someone depends of those titles. It's more like they actually imagine that those supporters think their opinion is better just because of those titles. Just like the softcore/hardcore thing. And people can hide their forum titles anyway, so...

- People with forum titles whining about the game and that forget they donated to the game. 2 good examples : 1/ "I paid good money for the game, so I'm entitled to make this point and this point which I consider important and GGG better consider them too, because I paid". 2/ "I quit this dumpster game and I want a refund".
