I think the mod tags are a legacy thing, but fyi invalesco was one of the original players to create completely OP builds that people wanted to copy, without actually exploiting anything.

His crit shadow build of the week was pretty damn awesome for its time. I can see how someone to plays so well without using exploits would feel upset about seeing people taking what he may percieve to be shortcuts. Still, I stand by what I wrote a few pages ago, and what has just been reiterated by tadl. Knowing where to find exploits and how to milk them effectively is one of the things that separates the top players from the others. It's legit imo.

Edit: Here it is for old time's sake <3

GGG are the only moderators.

Players used to be appointed forum moderators up until about a year ago, and when they lost their moderating powers they got to keep their titles.

The old moderator tags are a relic.

And Invalesco is a very appreciated member of the community lol, made a lot of helpful threads explaining crafting etc.

And he is usually the last to past judgement. (i have seen him enter threads and prove entire arguments based upon fact's backed up with data)

The fact he react's the way he does to this shows a lot about the implications of this passing true testing on GGG's side imo.
And i think it has more to do with a "honor" thing.

A twitch streamer, having an example roll to the community, (ab)using a mechanic that allows for a 300% MORE modifier, while other known MORE modifier cost you 90%hp degen at a 50% more increase.

However could he have known this was a glitch and should have been posted in the bug section?....

And this is the thing that will hurt the community, when such a top player does not have the honor to report what is an obvious bug, for personal gain. Undermining the very league he plays in and his efforts.

How does that make sense? An exploit is a non-intentional design flaw, bypassing certain rules set forth by the mechanics/game itself.

How is milking that related to being a "top-player", its an issue and should be reported, it should not be given any thought rather then a quick bug thread, while you await confirmation if it is legit y/n.

I feel like you are saying, if GGG somehow passed a bug, where i could use a program to rewrite base hp/mana value's, guess what, it is legit, because i am a top player and managed to abuse a design flaw that slipped in the patch allowing for this to happen.

When you look at the common value's of "MORE" in this game, none will exceed 100%, it should have been stupidly obvious that this was not intentional, and like stated before he kept it silent in order to gain an advantage, this means he was fully aware it was a bug, but yet refused to make it common knowledge in fear of a nerf before exploitation.

This makes him a top-player? Goddamn i'm happy to be a scrub then :D

This is anything but legit. If you are referring to the word legitimate, that is.
(if he was a nobody playing the game, i might agree it was legit, uncovering a design flaw without full knowledge of the previous design could grant impunity, but when you are a top player? Then you are more then capable to realize this was a non-intentional bug)
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

As I and others have pointed out, traditionally it has always been what separates the top players from everyone else, whether it be in getting WoW world firsts, doing competitive speed runs, e-sports whatever. People are supposed to do whatever they can within the rules in order to win, it's not a competition if they don't. Sure, failing to report exploits would make someone a bad tester, but not a bad competitor.

Testing is for testing, and competition is for competition. Most of the whingers here are just jealous that they didn't think of it first.
Challenge leagues have a few goals. Do the challenges, or become number 1. Best way to become number 1 is do clear maps fast, to do that you need to find the BEST POSSIBLE BUILD, this at the moment being bugged specters. Its not havocs fault they are in the game, EVERYONE has the ability to use it, all is fair when are are racing to 100.
