Man, nothing sells anymore unless it's the high end uniques

Yeah man.. THat chest isnt worth 3ex in standard.. resists and armor are too low for 3exalts.. There is SOOOOOO much GG gear in standard, that most of the people who play there ONLY want GG crafted rares or uniques.. I think you would enjoy the 4 month leagues much better..

this is what happens , it is simple logic really.
step 1: player gains good items step 2: player sells item for considerable mark up to gullable people or flippers step 3: flippers sell for even higher markup to even more gullable noobs. step 4: shocker the gullable noobs dont have money step 5: now nothing sells and the prices fall. step 6: noobs buy shit again. it is the way of things, noobs arent a boundless cookie jar the rich can dip their hands in , the resources of poor players is strictly finite , even the hardcore farmers can only make maybe an exalted or 2 a day from serious ass farming. 5ls with good stats are a frivolity , actually most linked gear with good stats are a frivolity. You dont need them, what noobs want are the links , nothing more nothing less, they dont give two shits and a fuck about the stats , because it is SO much easier to get head gear , belts , boots and gloves with good stats to make up for a chest slot. to the op, the only way id buy that chest is if you scoured it and sold it cheap. not even joking , the good stats on it mean nothing to me. i mean why would i get that 5l 6s for 3 exa when i can get the base item 5l for 4 chaos or less and just take what ever the alch throws at me. im positive ill get something useable for the 56 - 120 chaos orbs id save from buying the white base item. perspective. well, market in permanent league is flooded with items, supply is much greater than demand. Most players who trade have already good items and are not willing to pay much for only little upgrade
this is happening in all games where so-called "economy" is involved and there is nothing broken about it. Increasing drop rates hepls only short-term (like in D3 where drops were increased several times, better affixes introduced, and in few weeks it was all the same again). If they make trading easier then it would be soon even worse. Good gear would be very cheap and top-end items expensive as hell. The chance of dropping something selleble will be converging to zero.. Again nothing broken just a consequence of massive trading in ARPG and players choice to hunt for items to sell IGN: Eric_Lindros CET: Timezone Last edited by Ludvator#6587 on Jan 2, 2014, 9:24:35 AM

I'm in standard too and i sell every day many items worth form 1 chaos to 3-4 exalts. You're probably asking too much for your items, or you're expecting to sell them too fast.

Yesterday i wanted to start a new char that needed a meginord's belt on domination.
I looked up the prices in the explorer. There were soo many meginords for sale, no buyout below an exalt. I had watched a week ago and i think halfe of the meginords have been there for sale for weeks now. And of course i don't want to buy a meginord for 40 chaos when i could buy it for 10-15 in anarchy. So i wrote to all the people online that i would buy their meginords for 20 chaos. Had a nice talk with one of them, around 10 just gave random responses about fixed b/o's, the last one traded with me. So with a time investment of 1-2 minutes i was able to save 20 chaos. I doubt that any of the meginords will sell for an ex in the near future. | |

I have to agree, that the armor is not worth 3ex. Why? I'm probably not your standard player who is either very rich or very poor. I have gear worth maybe 30-50 exalts and some 10 spare exalts in chest. So I would probably be the one you want to sell it to, because rich players don't need it and poor players can't afford it.
So why am I and other people not buying your chest? Simple: what would you use it for? Armor based, some armor, life, res, so I need a lot of Str. to use it and I am probably melee. First problem: its 5l. Yes that is a problem because it means I'm losing a lot of dps compared to a 6l (probably around 20%). But you say, better then not having any 5l at all. --> wrong! I could spend my 3 ex now and get it and do maybe 5-7k (depending on other gear) dmg or I can use 4l (or crappy 5l) and do less dmg (or have less survivability) but save up to 8 exalt for: Boom 6(7l) chest. But if I invest it will take me much longer. Also I have to agree that you need chest armor mainly for links everything else is a bonus, so (being mediocre rich) I use: on my other char. Stats suck, I know, but what does it? I'll just get more life and res somewhere else as I could bump my dmg by having that 6th link. The only thing I would spend currency on is something that remains usable all the way, that means High-End gear (as mentioned earlier) gets more expensive and good gear does not sell (because this chest is worth like 1ex maybe --> for a new player). 5L scales differently on items, depending on their mods and base.
If the mods are trash, it's few chaos to few gcp if it's a good base. If the mods are mediocre, like the ones on your chest, it's 1 ex max. If the mods are very good to top end, then it's 3-5 ex. (not taking a perfect rolls on uniques in here, links scale drastically with them, hence the perfect rolls). This is a major problem with selling/buying, people can't comprehend that item mods have their own value, independent of links. Hope this helps. |
