If you are talking to me: mods only have value if they are top tier, I'd gladly pay 5-10 exalt on a chest with 2k evasion 100+ life and some resists (if I need that atm). But why would I pay anything for good (medium) rolls? Uniques I can reroll so getting a perfect one is not so important. Rares I can't...

What a contradictory in your first sentence, first only top tier mods have a value and then suddenly 2k evasion with top tier life and some resists is good enough and has value, really?

Therefore, what you've sadi about top tier value, it's rubbish.

If rolling perfect unique (that is worth rolling, hence the Divine Orb cost) is that easy then I believe there would be loads of perfect Daresso's Defiances, Lioneye's, Voltaxics, etc.

And believe me, people actually pay 2x of the item value if the item is perfect, I would never, I see you would never, but that means nothing.

Hi, sorry for the late reply but I didnt noticed this thread.
I will try to explain the situation from a poor player's view.
I play a meele class and that armor would be very very good for me and the price is OK i would say for 3 ex. However I cant afford it simple because i dont have any exalted orb, but thats not the problem. One lucky drop or something and I can get my EX but... I would not buy it anyway and here is why.
Exalted orb for me is so precious and unique and valuable, that i would really give it away only for some godly item. Giving away my ex is like giving away my whole stash.
I used to buy 5 Linked avarage chest armors with mediocre double res and +/-60 hp for 1 ex.
I would rather run in an armor like this and with 2 extra exalteds stash ( just in case i want to buy something ) like buying your better armor for everything I've got. The result for me would be +100-200hp, a bit more armor and maybe +10% rezist which is easy to get anyway. I am not eager to get godlike items because I dont play HC so when I die i dont give a ... :-)
In case I would be a rich player who need an armor like this for my alt character and I have XX exalteds for spend, 3 should not kill me and neither make me poor.

I try to sell armour that is much better then this since weeks (!!!) for 1 EX!
Nothing! Nobody want's it.

In Standard, there is no marked for anything. Only Ultra-High-End-Gear gets sold.
I try to sell realy good gear for 8 Chaos (3-Res-Chests, Ele-Bow 5L) -> nothing.
I made an MF-Char, but now i find out that it is a waste of time to farm...
You wont sell anything in Standard, the ecconomy is down...
You get Mid-Items for 3 Ex ?!? 3 Ex!!! In Beta, you get for 3 EX High-End-Gear...
And for a normal player, 3 EX is enough to think about if he should spend it or not...
A normal player see's maybe 1 Ex in a week dropping...

One Socket, but be hornest... for 8C you can 4L/5L by youself.
This is a solid and good chest, but it's not high-end and that why you dont get it sold...

Nice , but why would I want to spend maybe hundreds of jewellers and fusings and also ... no hp ? No thx. 8C ? No thanks, even for free.... it would only take away a lot of slots in my stash.

it has no life, has low ev and cant get both with exalt cause it has 2 prefixes already.

and it would need PLENTY of investment to get even wearable at all,cant become endgame viable and is pretty much always gonna be mediocre at best. why would anyone buy that and then invest several exalts in it?

Not sure I understand. If this is due to my English - apologies, English is not my native language. What I mean is:

Uniques:
If you take for example BoR, 2 variable Mods, divining them into sth. very good is not very easy, but a 290/218 BoR is already considered near perfect. So if you take a low BoR (about 8ex) I have 16 Divines to get it to sth. good, I think with 16 tries I can get something really decent (considering top Bringers are like 16 ex).

Rares:
Mods are bound to tiers. So I can't easily re-roll a chest like OPs which has the right mods but not high enough values. So here only top tiers are worth sth. 2k evasion with top tier life is already 3 top or second dier mods (flat ev, % ev, life), throw in some good other rolls and you have sth. of value.

Also: I think Unique top rolls do not really affect (effect?) your everyday player as he would be quite satisfied with obtaining the unique in the first place and has other things to spend his currency on.

Again, we might disagree but maybe we don't, not sure.
