Would you support a 6L Orb that cost X fusings?
" cost me 90 exalt 3000 fuse costs about 86 exalted not to mention the original price of the bow |

I'd hate any fixed amount of fusings after which you are guaranteed a 5L or a 6L. It would make the whole get-your-6L thing like a countdown and very rigid and flat and I don't think that this is in the spirit of the game.
What I would like to see however, is an incremental increase of the likeliness of success with every fusing used. So if your chances are 1:1500 initially, after using a fuse you get 1:1499 for your next one. Or maybe even just the chance for that: 50% that your next fusing will have a greater chance of success. I don't like the way it is now. I think after a fixed amount it is the second worst way possible. To know you can accumulate orbs for hundreds of hours and then just blow them in a failed attempt is NOT REALLY MOTIVATING at all. Last edited by Jojas#5551 on Dec 23, 2013, 2:00:44 PM

Once GGG determines that they are going to balance the game around EVERY SINGLE TOON using 6L item(s) then I might find some validity in the argument that players need greater access to reliable 6L on equipment that fits their build.
Until they do, all arguments for providing that access are rooted in jealousy, greed, or inability to problem solve. I have as much *need* of a 6L to play PoE as I have a *need* to drive a Ferrari as a commuter vehicle. I'm not saying it wouldn't be sweet, but it would still be the same commute... |

" This is a nonsense argument. There is no "need" whatsoever to get past Hillock, to play HC, to play this game and of course there is no need for a 6L. But nobody ever said that except people who don't know what they're talking about. Last edited by Jojas#5551 on Dec 23, 2013, 2:07:15 PM

Bad idea op, 6l for set amount of fuses would affect the trade price of fusings, and therefore Jews and alts, affecting lots of people. Would also be just plain against st the spirit of the game. Let's have a 10 chaos reciple that will roll flat armour on an item while were at it?

how about actually make crafting adjust to item level, better than just "you need at least ilevel X to roll six sockets"?
make something that came out of a Shipyard map more likely to 6-link or roll superb mods, compared to something out of Docks? nah, let's just have Roulette Numbers Generator control everything. so hardcore. Alva: I'm sweating like a hog in heat

" I'm sorry, but this is a terrible analogy. Are you saying it makes no difference on your 2 hour commute whether you're driving a '79 Gremlin with no back window or a 7 series BMW, because you're still driving the same route? That's actually what people are getting at with wanting 6Ls to be a bit more attainable. Sure, you can clear maps with a 5L or even a 4L, but a 6L can make it a whole new experience. Personally I wouldn't mind the 'guaranteed' route I guess, but I do kind of like the way it is now. If I could just level up, gear up, and faceroll top level maps on a predefined schedule I'd probably just stop playing. This isn't an MMO. |

" Think outside the box. Alcs, Chaos, Regal, Exalt all remain a gamble. Sockets/Links can be guaranteed. "Man, it's like we're fighting housewives and their equipment." - Millennium

Yes, there should be a way for risk-adverse people to do anything by themselves in this game. Currently 6s and 6L are not possible for a risk-adverse player to do. You must trade if you are risk adverse and want a 6L.
Just because I'm a risk-taker when it comes to acquiring new wealth does not mean I am a risk-taker when it comes to spending my already obtained wealth. The gambling-not-crafting system is what will eventually make me quit this game. |
