WIll POE Match D3

A few friends and I decided to download the PTR and give it a go. We played until the aqueducts in act 2 before we quit. It was like, "here you completed a quest have this guaranteed upgrade"

Zero thought required. The game was already very casual with little replayability, and loot 2.0 does nothing to help that. It plays like a console game, and honestly they should just offer a single player offline mode to cater to the people that are looking for that. There is no reason to have interaction anymore, the majority of the loot you find will be catered to you.

All of this aside, it still has a target audience. Many people still find the game play enjoyable and don't have the time/patience for a game like PoE. If that's the case, Torchlight 2 is a much better bargain and at least has mods to allow the community to give the game some longevity and replayability.

Feel how you will, but in my opinion there is nothing left for PoE to match. It's now up to blizzard to prove their worth again.

Its funny cause i only play D3 on console and never on pc. usually its the other way around xD. why? on console, it is drm free and no auction house. somehow the controller feel natural while playing D3. so its a good console port xD.
Oh an expansion for the bad diablo clone that launched last year? My, how exciting!

Not.

I don't get why everyone whines so much about the drop rates, they're not that bad. And if you trade any, I can't see why you'd say that at all.

I've traded a total number of times countable on one hand. And most of those were just random stuff I "sold" to help someone out. Playing more or less self found has not been a problem, so if you think the drop rates are so bad: start trading/make an MF char/stop whining about it, it's not that bad.

I think they drops are fine. I have probobly looted 10-15 exalted, i get strecthes where ill loot a couple a week and go a couple weeks without. Although there are things that suck. I used well over 5000 fusings and have only 6L once, never got a unique from a chance orb, never had an end game item drop, meaning soultaker, shav, koams, the high end items, map drop rates have been badly nerfed although a patch said it would get better and lunaris runs being dropped 2 lvls seriously hurt any leveling u might want there, from 700k a run to around 175k a run. Poe I think is the best thing out there right now, if they would just listen to the community and communicate and fix the little problems instead of ramming things down your throat to buy and make money I would be a serious supporter.

10-15 exalts? Yeah, this is what's wrong with this game.

I have 5 characters over 87. 2x lvl 87, 1x 89, 2x lvl 90.

In TOTAL combined through EVERY character, I've looted 10-15 exalts TOTAL. (Probably 14-15 I think)

Never found a unique better than BoR, so have never found a tier-3. My best drop ever was in Domination just a few days before I quit. Was a life based evasion MF helm, 50% iir/45% cold res/33 light res & like 60 life or something, sold for 20 exalts.

I don't see how one guy can be level 89 and find 10-15 exalts where I have grinded much, much more content than you have. More than most, to say the least. And nearly everyone I know has found at least one tier-3 unique. I swear my account was flagged or something. I mean there's just no reason for me not to have found one of the big items yet. I know level 80's that have found a shavs/kaoms/soul taker etc. Wtf. RNG is RNG, but when you play enough sooner or later you break that RNG. If you're telling me 2k hours play time is not enough to find ONE tier-3 or GG unique, that's a joke. It's crazy man. Don't say "use MF" either because I ran hundreds of 77 shipyards/shrines with the best MF (at the time at least) on standard server (over 550 iir/150+ iiq) and still never saw a hot drop like that.

Maybe I'm the unluckiest person who ever played? Who knows. All I know is, when you grind long enough then at some point, you're supposed to get that good drop. Nope. Not for me. Hell, I have a lvl 87 and 90 on Domination and I've looted a total of 2 fucking exalts. Come on now..

I was doing lunaris runs, solo, with 144 IIQ/ 349 IIR. with that high of IIQ I would get alot of currency drops. But the way I look at it, I would trade those exalts if it meant getting more than 1 6L in over 5000 tries. average 50 fusings per EX, thats over 100 EX i have spent trying to 6L stuff. Where some people say they have 6L twice in 100 tries. one great 6L can bring 10-15 EX the same I have looted in EX. So in the long run ive actually lost currency trying to 6L where the people that get 6L quick make more than me. So I'll take the great 6L luck and u can have the EX.

I've never 6L'd anything, and I can guarantee you I have used a LOT more fusings then you have my friend.
I'll still play both but honestly I am really burnt on POE right now. I'm level 75 now and I'm still using the same sword I got at level 51. I've spent hundreds of alchs, probably 30ish chaos (yes I know a waste) on reaver swords from maps but nothing even comes close to my sword dps wise. I'll probably take a break from PoE when RoS comes out.

You are in the substantial minority with this opinion.

Assuming you mean the drop of good/useful items, and not just "anything dropping." I agree, more than enough stuff drops. If your goal is to see white, blue, and yellow letters on the screen, that's fine.

no, he's not

the drop rates for good items in PoE are fine

maps, weapons, currency - its fine, especially considering the leagues are 4 months long

everybody starts off with nothing -- everybody has 4 months to accumulate items -- its fine

and every 4 months the permanent leagues get flooded with items from the leagues that just ended - so they have plenty of stuff too

Correct, the drops are just fine ... if you trade.

And trading is fun fun fun ! =P
I'm not the biggest fan nor hater of D3 but the people saying that the original D3 sucked because it was "too casual" must have really a really bad memory.

Anybody that browsed the forum early after its release knows that the #1 complaint about the game wasn't about RMAH, nor was it about the simplified build system...

It was about the difficulty.

Original D3 was an extremely hard game. It appears they've switched to the polar opposite in RoS (which I probably won't be buying) but to say the original D3 sucked because it was too easy for hardcore players is simply laughable, PoE isn't the easiest game out there but it pales in comparison.

Even funnier is that a lot of the same people also think PoE needs better drops so that PoE can also be a casual game. Yeah... the need to look for a build online does not make this game suddenly hardcore compared to D3. The customization in this game is far more deep but please don't act like vanilla D3 sucked because it was "too easy" or "casual friendly" and PoE is great because it is "hardcore."

I love PoE. I thought D3 was a disappointment. But people need to get their facts straight.
