" This post made me giggle. It's like someone who has won the lottery posting a pic of his lottery ticket and saying look how easy it is to win at the lottery. GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

D3's expansion fixes some of my gripes with it, but it introduces new deal breakers for me: class-tailored drops, too much loot, no Gold AH (my issue was the RMAH, not the concept of an AH), and endless paragon levels (I want to have a definite finish line for my characters, even if I may never get to 100 in PoE I still know there is a clearly defined ceiling).
It also doesn't fix the fundamental shallowness of D3's design, both in terms of build and gameplay. It's just too cookie-cut and simplified for my taste in ARPGs. It's like WoW in that way: too simplistic, too dumbed down. So, PoE will not "match" D3. It outdid D3, still outdoes D3, and as far as this player is concerned: will continue to outdo D3. | |
Personally I like PoE's drop rates. I found or chanced these all myself. The D3 expansion will probably prolong the life of the game for a couple months at best.

Inb4 lottery, I traded, or RMT.

" drop rates in d3 and poe feel just about the same if you ask me. takes ages to get a good item for whatever build/class you play, but you can find decent stuff to sell in the meantime and use trading to gear up. crafting system in POE isn´t really an argument either as it is way more efficient to trade your currency rather than use it yourself. RoS looks like it will be a great game, and even if you get legendarys raining from the sky in that game, getting perfect gear without any form of trading will really make sure you can play for ages without getting there, always striving for those few extra stats. and it basically has just the same endgame as PoE, no one really still thinks maps is such a revolutionary thing anymore do they? still, the short term aspect of races are something poe does have it its favor. |

Noooo! Drop rate just fine, I never want PoE to turn in to Arcade game like Diablo 3. That's how Diablo 3 feels like to me Easily adaptamed loot drops, Will make the game Boring more! It's already boring to me everything so easy on there And dumb down.. I think Diablo 3 wont have long term end game.. PoE will, The way it keeps going, But ya D3, its turning in to easy Arcade game Basically, Can't see my self playing it for long term either. I fell in love with PoE so much, I can see myself putting over easy 1000 hours and more! I enjoy the challenges PoE Offer And going to keep supporting them by buying stuff in shop! To help them keep prograssing Wonderful game!

Honestly, it's NOT D3 or PoE, it's about the initial influence Jay Wilson had-> a noob D2 player wannabe. He only imagined in his own mind what the D2 experience was for everyone else.
How many lvl 99 characters did he have? Was he ever in the top 100 ladder? Basically these things would be public knowledge and the lack of them only shows he's a D2 PRETENDER who is the person that doesn't remember the game right. Blizz choose the wrong person to direct their game and now their backpeddling. ![]() |

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that all blizzard did was increase the numbers a bit in D3 The items compared to the monsters health stayed generally the same. And am I the only one that thinks that a “crusader” is a terrible idea for a character. Glorified Templar how original – not. They would have done better to bring back some old favorites. Oh well. I am looking forward to the awesome stuff in PoE. It seems to me that you can tell which game is over produced. D3 seems to have too many george lucas types that focus too much on money and not on content. PoE/GGG really seems to have their eye on the ball.

" Kormac the Templar has a line "How could you succumb to this Coven?" It really should be addressed to Blizz and say "How could you succumb to this Jay Wilson?" |

" As huge of a disappointment D3 was to me, I doubt that it was just Jay's fault. Or his fault at all. Activision's Blizzard is very different from the old Blizzard North, with a vastly different upper management and management style. He probably had much less freedom than may seem obvious. The whole game seemed WoW-like in various ways (even partly in the art direction), which is something I speculate was dictated from the more shrouded top. He was just the scapegoat. |
