Combat is alpha and omega of ARPGs .. it's something you are doing 99% of the time..and maybe it's just click click click ...but this click click click has to be flawless and enjoyable.. and PoE is lacking.. I can tell you that all of my friend but one..left PoE because of sucking combat. I am somehow here for over 3 years already and accepted combat as it is..but it's not enjoyable.. not for me..nor many my friends.. second important part of ARPG is loot..and it's also horrible in PoE..D3 had horrible loot..horribly bad.. so do PoE.. Jump into D3 PTR and see how loot should look like..still not that good..still has many problems.. but it's something I can enjoy again..(so sad that after Titan Quest there were no APRG which made loot right) |

Its about the roleplay and journey with the character you have made out from you ideas on how you want that character to behave. No wonder d3 fans and poe fans always arguing is like 2 different gamers head-clashing. Personally I blame blizzard they tried to transform the ARPG genre into an arcade streamlined version. Yea it might be fun for some but it got nothing to do with an RPG. " Played pen and paper D&D for 14 years,(and I was dungeon master for over 9 years) played RPGs video games since i was 13.. I think you are very wrong I am arcade player. I love deep games..but I don't like unneeded complexity... Honestly all system in PoE are very complex with not enough depth.. I don't like comparing it to D3 because there are tons of other games to compare with..but I think everyone here played D3.. what PoE has what D3 doesn't customize wise? honestly...passive tree is just glorified, more ugly, worse working and more confusing paragon system... Keystones are just worse passives from D3, and support gems are just very complex way to make skills viable in later difficulties ...basically just gating system..customization wise.. D3 again did that better In my opinion.. only thing which I like on PoE is build permanency.. which has nothing with customization..While I would love to have some build permanency in D3, I can decide how permanent my build is.. I played 6 shamans in WoW..everytime I wanted to try different build, I played 3 Demon hunters in D3..always I wanted to try different build..so for me..it's basically same like PoE (don't get me wrong.. I love fact that PoE has build permanency and I would love to see it in D3) For me.. PoE is not technically at level of D3..nor is any deeper.. it's just more complex..yet..it's just very arcade game..honestly.. " Not even going to touch on the rest of your post, but this is such a stupid comparison. You are REQUIRED to spend money to play RoS. Buying supporter packs is completely optional and you only do it if you want to support the game. The stash tab argument is also fucking stupid because you can make as many accounts as you like to store things. |
