I was actually one of the unfortunate ones who thought that "hey, it's blizzard, they can never make a bad game" and a decision that still haunts me today, I went and bought the collector's edition of D3.
Never I've been more disappointed in my purchase than with that POS game that promised the heavens and gave me the hells. What I tell you now is not a secret anymore; there's only amateurs working at blizzard nowdays. All the legendary game designers / programmers have long left the company and I don't blame them. They probably saw the same corruption way before us and decided to abandon the ship early. Because they were intelligent. And intelligent people are the ones making good games. Like folks at GGG. Oh well, even though it's a shame what has happened to former throne-holder blizzard (notice I don't even want to spell it with a capital), things never last forever. Now we have PoE and GGG holding the throne, but some day they will be gone too. We can only hope that their empire and vision holds for a long, long time... Now is the time to bow down for them. " Rofl? 2/3 the price, not "near" if you ask me. Also, look at your fucking 3 supporter packs? If I'm not mistaken, you've spent over $1,000 on those 3 alone if not more? LOL I've said this a million times. I would much rather pay for a game straight up if I don't have to worry about so many in-game issues such as server lag & desync. I'm sorry, it's a bigger deal then you guys think. I'm glad I scanned the forums just now and caught this thread. It really cracks me up how you can complain about 40 fucking dollars for a game yet you've spent well over 10-20x that amount on this "free to play" game lol..also, it's not really free to play. Sure it is, but trust me I tried having 2 char's over level 80 and only the 4 stash tabs that came stock...didn't last long, ended up buying a bundle when they were on sale for 15 bucks or something. You'll end up buying enough stash tabs to last ya when you reach that point, stuff that would come stock in a game you just flat out bought. Jesus, I feel like all I do is go AGAINST path of exile when I honestly think it's a fuckin fantastic game. It really is. But it has it's problems, and some are very BIG problems, that need to get solved and looked into. All this time guys, chris hasn't gone and made a flat out statement regarding desync. He talked about it before release a long time ago in OB if I'm not mistaken, but it got worse. That's why I gave up trying to play. I'll be checking in every now and then to see if some changes will ever be brought up. But the fact he doesn't care or simply isn't talking about it because he knows there's no solution, that's very..very bad lads. One last time: complaining about 40 fucking bucks when you have all those support titles LOl. Seriously dude, that's a joke lol.. You can not be serious about that. Who cares? You guys saying blizzard "sold out" clearly no NOTHING about running a fucking business. Do you not think GGG would trade shoes with them if they could? GGG might not ever admit it, admirably so, but come the fuck on. Blizzard is worth BILLIONS. They clearly are doing SOMETHING right. I was VERY disappointed with d3..but for reasons you all seem to not understand why it was a fail. You blame the ah, lack of builds, etc...sigh. You mean to tell me that you didn't like being able to throw an item up for a desired price, and whatever someone wanted to pay (that's how it should work? items are only worth what others are willing to buy it for) and also you could farm at the same time? Come on. PoE I would sit in trade chat for fuckin 3 hours and get nothing but god damn lowballs and fuckin merchants messaging me. It was fucking hell and half the time I literally sold shit at fucking HALF THE PRICE or I wouldn't sell at all. This guy in standard, I was selling the rest of my gear off. I literally gave him 15 exalts in free items/discount just to sell one thing. I was sick of trading and well standard is a dump so that's understandable..if the AH never crashed from those early dupes, (albeit something probably would of happened again, who knows) things would of stayed okay as the market progressed. D3 had different builds, but every game has a "cookie cutter" build. PoE has them too, please don't act like it doesn't. I'll give you this though, PoE is more like d2 where it's a gear check. Bad builds in PoE can be good with good gear. Bad builds in d3 were just bad, no matter the gear. I thought the combat was so much smoother in d3, also did I mention NO DESYNC? Seriously people - that's the key word here! PoE has the huge skill tree that just looks epic. You can envision so many builds, it's like d2 on crack. Whilst there is a lot of builds..theoretically, in reality how many are viable? And I'm talking end game people, not leveing fuckin 1-65. I think end game in PoE however is more fun that D3, seeing how doing alkeizer runs all day got very dull. PoE got dull after level 85+ because so many unexpected desync deaths would leave me out of hours of wasted XP and time played. Not to mention, it costs CURRENCY to progress in path of exile. That's one thing I never enjoyed. RoS though, looks promising. I have no problem paying 40 bucks for it. I would of had no problem paying 60 bucks for path of exile. I definitely got my time out of it, no doubt. But it's free to play, and I played it for free, for a long time..I got others to play and try it out, and they have gotten THEIR friends to play etc. No one really still plays though, just to many issues on the other end that made it difficult to enjoy past end game. Constant desync is no bueno. And yes, I mean constant. Cyclone = desynclone, every 10 seconds (no, that's not even a fuckin exaggeration ..) Whew. I meant to keep that short and sweet. But all this d3 hate threads, they are just ridiculous. BY NO MEANS do I think d3 is a better game than PoE. Not even close man. But don't act like poe is fucking perfect. PoE has some of the biggest problems out of any game out there and simply because of the actual game not running well..what a shame Alright seriously done now. i'm not even supposed to be here. Well, let us for a sec be Real and Talk about the most Common Parts about both Games. I played both so i can let them fight vs each other.
D3 vs PoE Price: -D3 cost 1 time Money ; PoE dont cost money, but you are forced to buy atleast some Tabs. Sum: 1:1 Different Builds for your Hero: -Here is PoE the clear Winner, it have TONS more possibilitys to make your "own" Hero. Sum: 0:1 Desync/Rubberbanding: -We dont need to say here something. PoE loses here clearly. Shittiest Game ever when the term Desync comes in your Mind. Sum: 1:0 Trading: -D3 got the AH, but they Remove it. So both Trading Systems nearly identical. You are forced to Trade with someone and this guy must be Online. So no timesaving offline Trading. Sum: 0:0 personal note: i hate this trading method personaly, wished poe has a AH and im not forced to interact with scumbags.(not all ppl/trades) Patches/New Content: -PoE is the clear Winner here, D3 only give "new" Stuff for money(xpac) or they patch 2-4 times in a year. Sum: 0:1 Leagues: -D3 have only 2, SC or HC. PoE have only 2 too but they have the Short Leagues (Races) and 4 Month Leagues for SC and HC. Sum: 0:1 Dev/Mod/Employee Response: -D3 wins here a little bit when the "number" of Responses count. PoE employees dont response often, most of the Time its just a "pls discuss this here or topic closed". But WHEN PoE employees Response you have more the "feeling" they listen what you wrote. Btw i dont count "anounce" Stuff here, thats only a 1-Sided Communication. Sum: 1:1 Community/Forum Community: -D3 wins here cleary. The Forum is WAY better moderated. Not so many hate Ingame and in the Forums. I found it "harder" to find nice ppl in PoE as in D3. Sum: 1:0 Crafting: -PoE wins here clearly. Tons of more possabilitys. Even when many/some ppl QQ about the RNG. RNG is a CORE FEATURE of a ARPG. Why? The Main Goal of a ARPG is, to hunt for a Better Item. And when your Item gets better, its harder and you need more time, to find a better Upgrade. D2 was nearly the same "hardcore grind shit" like PoE nowdays. (i like dat personaly) Sum: 0:1 Story/Acts/Vids: -Yeah... nothing big to talk about. D3 wins clearly, but they have more proffesional Designer to make some "cooler" Content. BUT! PoE trys to catch up! Wished we have Act Vids in PoE like in D2/3. And a more "deeper" Story. Sum: 1:0 Archievements: -D3 wins here cleary. Better/harder and more Funny Archievments then PoE atm.(Like let the Smith Guy kill his own Wife ;) ) BUT! PoE freshly started with the Archievment thing, so here is many room for catching up! Sum: 1:0 More things dont come to my Mind. :) End Sum: D3: 6 - PoE: 6 So from the View of the most Common Parts, its even between these both. The only thing i find a bit "wow, rly?" is: PoE Designer are "noobs/beginner". And Blizzard is a BIG FAT Company. They made D2 and cant "beat" a Game made from ARPG Lovers with only few Resources? " There is a big difference between being able to play a game as much as you want with the option of donating.....and having to pay full price to even play it. This is especially true with RoS because even if I had the slightest desire to check it out (I really really really do NOT) I couldn't because I would have to pay first to even give it a shot.
