Why is GGG caving in to casuals' demands?

This, nemesis + new mob types introduced during release are dumpstering hard on us in end-game maps.

Yes devourers and GMP birdmen, I'm talking about you. Also, I can't imagine now how bad end-game would be if it was short-allocation always. People who say this is the best system have never gotten characters to 90+ in maps on hardcore leagues. Permanent loot is a must-have.

It will never happen, since release all the best drops are gated behind high level maps out of reach of the "flimsy casuals" as you call them (god forbids someone would play a game for fun).

GGG seeing all these "active" threads (in reality it's 1 or 2 loudmouth demanders shouting to each other) thinks that these are somehow issues that "need" to be fixed. Well they aren't. The game was/is good when it's hard and the more casual demands go through, the more people who want to play PoE for the challenge are pushed away.

Why is GGG caving in to please the flimsy casuals who we all know will abandon this game the instant their instant-gratification meter is full? I hope the answer isn't that they are stupid, because I'm quite sure they aren't. Is it the money?

Discuss.

hows the game easier than before, late act 3 is by far the most difficult part of the game (well beside desync)

and thats not counting nemesis mods and rogue exiles

Agreed. OP is borderline flame bait/troll, just trying to beat the long dead horse "loot allocation".

The very premise of 'Hardcore' is your chara is deleted on death.

The irony of calling this game 'Hardcore' is the fact that POE is the least hardcore game in the genre. Even D3 deletes your charas on death & they also punish altF4'ers as well.

Many of the 'top' hardcore players know that as soon as they RIP they can trade all their gear for currency or FG & basically pick up where they left off aside from a relevel.

What are we told is the reason for your chara going to standard?..."We want to encourage ppl to try out hardcore" Hah! What's more casual than that!?

Not to mention they think Hardcore means RNG and Grinding. When it actually refers to games that test your skills to the limit.
If It's any consolation OP, party options are still woefully inadequate. You can't set max number of players and the two loot options are: 'If an item drops for somebody else clear across the map you just have to leave it there because you can never touch it, ever', and 'Uh Oh Loot dropped better stop fighting and use a speed flask to run over there before somebody else grabs it and hope you didn't go down a flight of stairs or are playing with someone who wants to camp your loot holding it to the ground by clicking on it repeatedly or that you don't lag ever so slightly or else you lose it!'.

Both suck ass and are completely unfeasible to me. Every time I party I go back to town after a half an hour with one lowly orb and a couple of blues. Fuck, I desynch in a solo instance and have to click on loot 2 or 3 times.
So, your argument is that the game is casual cause the loot allocation, ok then...

Act 3x is basically just one big annoyance.

What does it add?
Being movement slowed and/or attack-slowed by nearly everything you encounter.

The Dominus act fight is pretty decent, but we end up with a boss run where even I (who would kill everything I see between the WP and Piety in Lunaris) will just run past the mobs. Resulting in a 1 min run and a 1 min boss fight.

Basically, that is such bad gameplay, and the alternative of actually killing those annoying mobs between is out of the question, that the boss run now consists of the very same Piety run before A3X, but 2 levels lower.

As for Dominus map fights, we have the same issues with other 1 shot bosses, client-server sync. With Dom it's even worse, as the zombies can 1 shot you when not even next to you, on the client.

GG.

As for the A3X monsters in maps;

Well, the slow/chill/attack-slow mobs are just as annoying "I love being slowed" ~said no gamer EVER.

Devourers are kinda cool, but still pretty overtuned at times.

Proximity shield is something you have in a game where you are on the client somewhere approximately close to where you are on the server, yet another mechanic that doesn't work in PoE. Kole, Vaal, etc still do things at different times and in different locations on server and client. Adding more is just silly, fix them or remove the mechanics, don't add more that work out fine on the local test.

The birdmen, well, that's kind of a strange one.
It seems GGG are using the catch 22 situation of desync v attack-in-place v auto-LoS to introduce 'challenge'.
You'll see on these boards many a time to use shift-attack to prevent desync porting. Regardless of the fact it removes the designed function of auto-LoS for a ranged character.
Yeah, try taking out birdmen that are dashing around behind all sorts of things with shift held. You gonna get LMP extra dmg as lightning 1 shot, or desync into a room, your choice.
Casually casual.

youve a lvl60 marauder and 53 templar , pls be quiet about difficulty thanks
otherwise , quality troll.
i have to agree.

this game is becoming too easy and i'm growing bored.

i've been playing for about a year now and i only play hardcore and onslaught/nemesis leagues.

it's been 9 months since i've died at a high level, and that death was my first hardcore character ever...

this game has gotten exponentially easier since beta and i really don't like the direction GGG is taking

stop with the content nerfs, stop with the character restorations, stop catering to the casual whiners because they will literally never be satisfied.

take a page from Blizzard's book and realize that there will always be people complaining about this thing or that thing and how GGG should nerf blah blah blah...

i call the current generation of gamers the "WoW generation" because they are so used to being catered to in every way thanks to Blizzard.

back when i was a youngster there was no handholding and it was pure cutthroat all the way. got scammed? oh well! accidentally delete your character? oh well! die because of desync? oh well!

but for now the game is pretty awesome. i just hope they stop making it easier because, in my opinion, it's already too easy.
