I have several reasons for wanting a self found league that have nothing to do with loot or drops.
1) As a self found player, it is very frustrating playing in public games with traders. They are all way overpowered and faceroll content. They don't like playing with me because I'm too weak for them, and I don't like playing with them because I never feel like I have a legitimate role. 2) I'm tired of getting RMT spam from various websites. For the most part, I think the RMT sites would go for the low hanging fruit, which is the trading leagues, and leave a self found league alone. 3) The noticeboards are nothing but trading games, especially in merciless. This means that its very hard to find any public game where people are actually playing the game. In a self found league, the noticeboards might actually have some public GAMES on them, and not just temporary trading posts. 4) Global chat is just awash in stuff about trading. Either it's people spamming global chat with their trades, and then getting reported. Or its Price Check this, or its How many wanker orbs = one chaos? I like being on global chat in general, so I don't want to have to turn it off. But often I end up doing just that so I don't have to see all the trade BS. I play self found now. If they made a self found league, I would definitely join. I wouldn't mind seeing drops (especially of orbs) bumped for the league, but its not something I really need. Rather, I would prefer to see GGG work on the gambling system for all leagues. If crafting weren't completely frustrating, I'd be just fine with how drops are working out. (I am a little disappointed that I have not found one item yet that would inspire me to start a new character, and if it continues, I will likely drop out of the game in much less time than I stayed in D2. But I'm fairly patient, and I expect that a drop like that will eventually come my way.) I'm very disappointed that GGG has relegated all SFL discussion to this thread, and I'm even more chagrinned that the official SFL thread now has the name "BORING:S" That needs to change. Bad enough that this is shunted away to the suggestions forum. But it now goes under a name that no-one will associate with Self Found playing. |
