" Its bullshit. F2P games are make most money with ppl that buy often but cheap stuff. This is common not only in videogames but in many business types. And it will be that way in PoE too when normal Item Shop will start. Its called MICROtransactions. MICRO. not "500USDtransactions" only for most fanatical 1% of playerbase. " And that percentage will shrink when more people join the game and put money down on it. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

Well, the most important thing is that the game itself is free.
Who cares about what other people have? doesn't matter to me as long as I'm having fun. So what if that guy has godly pets or other cosmetic skins on? does it make him a better player than me? no, sure it might indicate that he's a lot luckier in life than I am but who cares, I played this game cause it's fun, I didn't play this game to have a fashion contest. |

" and do you think gold + silver are 70%? .... the most part comes from the packs that are around 10-50$. IGN: kReiZy

Spectral Basilisk and Green Frog are awesome, guess I'll buy them very soon :).
But the WETA, on the other hand... ![]() Guess I'll punch the monitor every time I see one :D (actually, I'll probably just duck in a corner shivering :P). |

" Yes but that argument is silly as we're obviously talking about people who can afford a computer and the free to play model is not a caritative entreprise. And it's doubly silly because a large number of the people who don't pay in this instance are people who don't *want* to pay. F2P games let you try before you buy essentially. Some people are happy enough never buying anything. So they don't really count for this argument. My main point was that when I got into a cash shop of a F2P game I don't expect there being super expensive items sold with the excuse that they are "funding" the developers. If you want to offer funding options, than continue to sell the supporter packs. Does APPLE sell super expensive 100000$ apps in the App Store so Apple fans can fund them? Im just saying the tiered system of the supporter packs is not a logical de facto for the cash shop. To have some kind of tiers sounds reasonable. To have super expensive items is not. Anyway I'll stop here but TLDR: It would suck to go in the cash shop and see items I can't buy at all. That's not my expectation of a free to play cash shop. |

" The whole entire purpose for the cash shop is for GGG to make money to support the game, future content and the servers. They do not spend all the time, effort and resources to not be able to support the game. The support packs were CLOSED BETA support packs. Moving into Open Beta and beyond the cash shop will be the means to support the game. Moan and whine all you like. GGG will make the tiers of items they see fit and i applaud them for it. Anyone complaining over pricing obviously does not need to buy the item they are complaining about as it does not effect game play in any way. GGG being ethical and not pay to win, has left them with very few avenues to produce the funding they need to continue to support the game. 5.00 is way to low for pets as seen from what Blizzard charges for pets they have, excluding the random 50& sale they do every now and then. This is the first release, and probably bare bones to start the shop off. How about holding all the negative comments until they release a much broader range of items in the months to come? Come on folks. 18 people.....18 people..... have worked their freaking asses off for months to make sure this game stays free to play. Don't go turning into babies and spewing hate all over the place. This team is the best i have seen in years and years. I say more power to them and Good Luck!!!! “Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

nice job GGG, the pet animations and skins look realy realy good!
the game is $free.ninty.free. if you dont want to buy "overpriced" (for your cheapass wallet) vanity items, dont, and move on and stfu or go get a better jobbyjob. and if people wanna run around with 50.00 monacles and 100.00 flaming chickens, that have no impact whatsoever on anybody esle's gameplay, then so be it. i would like to drive a benz. its out of my bracket. im not gonna sit here and begrudge those that DO have the disposable income to afford one, nor am i going to look at mercedes as a "greedy" company for producing a product there is a ready niche market for. my old man taught me a good lesson early on in my life when i was starting out collecting sports cards and comics. and that was this; something is "worth" exactly what someone esle is willing to pay for it at a given time and place, no more, no less. if people are willing to pay 50.00 for a vanity item, why WOULDNT a savy company that offers a f2p service provide that tier of item for sale? that just meeting demand. smart business. not saying GGG is going for upper end pricing like this, who knows,we will see soon enough, but more importantly, as long as its not p2w, wtf cares? my jaw hit the ground when i saw what peeps were dumping on the RMAH on pixels that they didnt even own the rights too!(totally dif deal, just sayin, it was mind boggeling) lol. if people wanna dump cash on pixles to enhance thier epeen, who cares? i was stoked to upgrade my package a couple times and would have dumped more money into it had i had it to spare, as this company deserves the support! im sure like everything else sofar, the micro's will have had some actual thought behind them, and i have every faith GGG will get that right like so many other things in this game! fcuk, feels like xmas eve......lets GO ALLREADY!!!! lol |

" Well to be fair, this sort of tier exists also in web apps, eg. "bronze" "silver" and "gold" and sometimes "gold" is much more expensive. Or often it's called "free" "baby" "pro" etc. However in those case, the premium package involves real value. Here we're talking about what's often referred as "fluff". Appearance items and consumables perhaps? It's not comparable to say it reasonable to have a 5$ lizard pet and a 500$ flaming lizard pet. Both are a bunch of coloured pixels on a screen. The value is extremely limited. So as such selling very expensive items is removing freedom from the 10% who will want to buy things, and telling them "no you can't buy this because it's really exclusive but hey don't feel bad these guys are funding GGG and you like us right?" |
