D3's logic in POE

Drop "quality" is relative, it depends on what items you are comparing your drops to. Buffing drop rates would not make you move closer to players you you compare your gear with

loot/crafting works fine for solo selffound (if you know what you are doing :))

one lvl 87 char? WTf m8 -- i was expecting more from you.

You aren't talking about RMT loot or trade flip loot by any chance?

PoE not only has much better loot than Diablo 3, grinding for it is more fun as well. Where D3 drops were 99% crap, PoE rewards me with a breadcrumb trail of goodies every time I play. I'm also not spoiled on trading for awesome gear; the stuff I find and craft is good but it doesn't overpower my character.

Seriously, PoE's items rock--the comparison to D3 is ludicrous.

You must be playing a completely different game then if you were able to acquire so many 'good' gears after playing less than a month.

Veteran players know there are very strict requirements for a gear to be good at high level, and it takes incredibly luck to get a couple of them with good roll range on a single gear because there are so many junk affixes and no floor on what level of affixes you can get no matter your item level.

No, there's no "Very strict" requirements for gear at end game. You don't need mirror worthy items to kill Dominus and start mapping. You can PLAY THE GAME JUST FINE with just self found items or minimal trading. Trading will push your character to another level but you're not by default entitled to that level. You can play self-found and beat the content just fine. If you want to get stronger than that, 1 shotting everything and raping lvl 78 map bosses, then you need to trade. Just imagine what would happen if you can do all of these awesome things by just farming low maps for a couple weeks, game will die because nothing has any value anymore and game survives on the joy of grinding for gear.

Who are all these people that sit around comparing their gear to other's gear and becoming jealous? I see them referenced all the time, so I assume they're fairly common and I just need to widen my social circles here.

Any of you out there reading this that want to step forward? If you do I'll link you my gear so you can feel better about yours!
Pretty much everything I own is self found. I made 1 trade for a piece of gear, and it was for my Deerstalkers. Ive bought a couple MultiTraps with Chaos ive found, and ive sold an Exalt I found.

I find a lot of stuff...I mean its not game breaking stuff most of the time but its good mid tier stuff at any rate. One thing I find is a lot of Gems...A lot. I have So many copies of Frostbite I could make even the most weathered Canuck shiver.

D3 was a grind-fest with terrible loot for a reason. Blizz wanted to cash in on the AH. The scheme didn't work. It forced big ass Blizz to change their mind. I think it is too late even for a big title like Diablo.... ( i'll never ever go back )

POE is a grind-fest with terrible loot to extend the playtime. POE is not an empty game and does not need artificial barriers to keep players in. GGG will get the opposite effect with current RNG/loot system. Once players will leave they will never come back. It will be too late for GGG to change anything after that. GGG doesn't have Blizz's resources to correct those kind of mistakes.

this is the biggest bullshit that I have ever read!

1. you are uneducated
2. the opposite is true

1. You dont seem to understand that if better loot dropped frequently you would not consider it as "better" anymore after a short period of time. As anyone has the better loot and can get it easily from drops or cheap in trades the treshold of what you think is better loot would just move upwards (exactly this would be an analogy with D3).

Resulting from this:

2. It would be even more hard to get any better loot, as what you consider as "better loot" would not be only in the top 20% of rolls but then in the top 10%/5% or rolls. Obviously it would be much more hard to get a drop where 3-4 rolls are in top 5% than in top 20% and you would complain even more that no "better loot" is dropping. Also after all people would get maxed out on gear far more easily and stop playing the game much quicker as there is nothing to obtain anymore. The exact opposite of what you said istrue.

Resulting from this:

You have a quite uneducated opinion cause otherwise you would have gotten to these conclusions yourself.

Your premise that the loot is terrible comes from trading. If you don't trade, the loot is fine. Once you trade for a "good" item, the "good" items from the game now look like crap. It's your choice. You either play the game with traded items or you play the game self found. My advice... try playing self found before you blame the game. It's a lot more rewarding.

When i was still playing i actually had to trade (normally play self-found because trading sucks so hard in this game) on my cleave-dw duelist to get the fun back in the game because my weapons were still from lvl 35 when i was 60ish.

Shagsbeard doesn't even play the game. He works full-time trolling the forums as a GGG apologist. I wonder how his dream date with Chris went.

He'll tell you your view is tainted because of trading, but won't admit that without those trades you'd be even more frustrated at the lack of progress you made. For someone who professes to love the game so much he spends an awful lot of time here on the forums instead of playing.

versus - people will quit anyway at the lack of progress due to being stymied by lack of adequate gear dropping. You can't have it both ways. At some point you have to reward the player for playing.

Stop talking bullshit. I explained exactly how it is :p
I have been playing this game since very early closed beta. I have taken breaks, and come back 2x now. I never came back to d3 after my 1st "break."

That's what by-weekly patches does. It keeps a game fresh.

any other brilliant theories I can shoot down for you?
