D3's logic in POE

People love to say then not apply logic...or really reality when talking about D3. I know it causes people to go full retard and lose all ability to think when D3 is mentioned, so its a sensitive subject.

I like d3 and I like poe...both for different reasons...so let me get that out of the way. Also I don't think either poe or d3 is a bad game, and I think both games have serious issues. I don't play popular opinion (else I would leave just a one liner like "d3 sucks bliz is greedy")

Anyway. The plan for D3 was to encourage people to trade via the AH...not to buy gear on the rmah..i. in fact they forced you to buy an authenticator to even use the rmah...which restricted a lot of people from bothering with it...including me... The whole point of the rmah was to provide people who were going to use 3rd party sits a safe and legit place to do what they were going to do anyway...and people do that here in poe...with or without an rmah.

So it wasn't some masterful plan to make millions on an rmah by restricting drops...


D3 and POE have the exact same self found loot issues...reason is...loot needs to be restricted to stop hardcore farmers...if good loot dropped often the game would be short lived. So the problem isn't as simple as people make it out to be.

I dislike economy based arpg games. I like self found. Rare loot should be rare, and it should be exciting to find, however too much of it and it becomes monotonous...especially when the loot roll RNG values are so general...most items wont roll what you need, or anyone needs. That's the issue D3 had. The loot wasn't usable 99% of the time...so people felt forced to AH it, thinking it was some greedy money grab to get them in the rmah (which made players more money than blizzard btw).

Its the same thing here, only, theres no easy way to trade...theres no rmah that's legit though many exist and many use them to bypass time required.

It sucked in D3 but at least there I didn't have to spend my day spamming chat, hunting on forums, locating people, playing the "no you offer" game, converting orbs, then hopefully the guy doesn't back out. I would search for what I want, and just buy it and go back to farming.

Also any changes to the market, loot, and currency is going to get the pro traders and RMT sellers EXTREMELY vocal. Mind you they spend their days on the forums, 3rd party AH's and in game running spam bots for their trades (making trade chat useless for most)...they are going to have the time to post and repost against anything that threatens their hold on the market and their 3rd party rmt income.


Personally I would love for orbs to NOT be tradable and only gear be tradable. They still need to fix self found loot...somehow...but I understand its not so easy...as some people farm with inhuman efficiency.

Easiest solution to all the issues in POE is to make an offline client. Would fix every issue with the game.

I'm a trader, a somewhat successful for that it's worth. And I am grateful for this loot system, it makes sure the top end gear that I work for is actually worth it. If I can easily pick them up, then I wouldn't be here today talking to you. I've have got bored of this game maybe sometimes in May and might as well be playing SC2. But I don't suppose it's something you understand.
