Voted 'No' but really it doesn't matter.

Numbers on enemy health bars is kind of pointless. We can already judge their health based on the bar and estimate their life/our damage based on how fast the bar drops, so to put numbers on there doesn't actually add anything to the game play. If the option to have the numbers shown was in there I'm sure I would put it on, but it just isn't needed.

Some power-gamers would use the numbers for minmaxing or research, but in no way does it add to the game for the average player.
I haven't played the game so i don't know if it could be useful or not. I have played games where really the red health bar is more than enough ie:diablo2. But in some other games, i couldn't know if i was doing enough damage vs monster regeneration. So i didn't know i wasn't strong enough to fight them or just needed to update my gear. If on any difficulty in this game, this isn't an issue, I don't see the use of it but more option is always good.
I would like the option, but i'm heavily biased as one of those people who wants ALL TEH NUMBERS!

By default, no.

However, I do like the concept of "kill enough of the monster and you get details on it".

But this should be something you look at in a journal/guide/etc (seperate window) while sitting somewhere safe.

So if you know that Killer Rabbit Demons have 800 hp, and you encounter a rare one with +325% hp, you could math-in-your-head and know that it had 3400 hp.
But it shouldn't be a numerical tracker on the monster itself.

This also opens up the ability for GGG to decide what kinda information they want players to be able to find out about monsters, and set kill counts for each piece of information.

IE:
5 kills - creature type(s).
20 kills - max hp
80 kills - resistances
400 kills - ability names
1500 kills - some ability stats
5000 kills - all ability stats
NewDude: I killed Brutus. Now I have no quest. So what now?
Guy: I guess there are people that NEED quests for direction.
Guy2: I always wonder how those people get through life.
GuyMontag: They get married. Wives are like quest-givers.
You need to have at least the option to turn on the numeric HP bar ( 690/800 ) ,I have played almost all mmorpgs and the most stupidest thing I found in some was that I found monsters 1 shoting me ,without me even knowing they are some kind of bosses . I need to know if I can engage a creature ,and if I can solo it or I need a group for it. If you are going for a 90% + diablo clone game ,guess that wont be so relevant , but if u want to bring new things and new monster mechanincs ,u should implement numeric HP bar tbh.
I think its something that should be in the options since everyone likes the screen to look diferent (clean/lots of info).
The idea on monster stats (after x kills) is nice and kinda diablo-nostalgic but again something to be sorted by the individual player on the options menu.

Generally speaking, normal monsters will all be in a similar realm of difficulty (ie, if you fight just one or two, it should be nearly impossible to die).
Harder monsters have blue names/info, and display a +X% health (as well as other stats).
Super harder monsters have a yellow aura, as well as yellow name/info and the +X% display.
Boss monsters do not have the special info displays, but should generally be able to figure out when a monster is a boss.

That said, the game is designed so that you can play through the entire thing single player, so there aren't monsters that will just destroy you because you didn't have a healer/tank/dps. This isn't an MMO, it's an ARPG.

Generality is a pain, but in this case it seems the best option. Let the user decide.

This is perfect.
I agree with wyldmage on this, some kind of Bestiary would be nice. Although i dont think Boss monsters should be in there. A boss should be a surprise, a test of your skill, revealing too much info about a boss would make it less satisfying to defeat it.(At least for me :D)

Also i think there should be some kind of reward for getting enough kills to reveal all the information about a specific monster, maybe a small dmg bonus vs that monster type. It would make grinding more rewarding(but im not in the beta, so i can't really tell how much grinding the game will require,if any at all)

Well thats just my 2 cents, sorry for any spelling errors or typos.
