Poll: Monster life number display

Should numbers be shown on the monster life bars?

Yes
59617.61%
No
51215.13%
If enabled in the options
227667.26%
What just came to my mind is seeing those numbers could be possible only with a skill/spell, say "inner sight". By inner sight, it gives you further information about the mobs on your path, and not only number of hp, but also more further info such as its speciality, resistance etc etc. you get aware of as you get more and more advanced on that skill/spell.

If this could be applied, then there left no worries about to display such numbers which could be seen in a not good way.

I've voted as "No" which i'm still right behind my vote though. Just a thought.

Yes
I voted for third option for obvious reasons. Giving the player the freedom to choose is always the right design.

But why do you developers (in general) always want to hide things like game mechanics and information from the player? I dont get it. You are really working against us here.

The more information I have the better decisions I make.

Cause this is not a calculation game, people should be playing this game for having fun, not for grinding item to be the top obviously.

Mechanics generally are avoided from players to be shown for its not being any in-game related thing as its only a job that devs should be dealing/sticking with.

And, why devs would want something as this from you ? Does this will make them richer, stronger ? No, so i found your question with this behaviour a bit "other kind".

Might as well throw my 2 cents in here. (didn't read much of other posts so I don't know if someone already said the same thing)

I think health numbers in a game like this are useless for few reasons.

First of all, in the endgame the amount of health monsters will have are going to be quite big, and I don't really see a way to insert 100000/100000 into UI so it doesn't look out of place.

Secondly, in arpg:s you're going to attack everything anyways, it's not going to be "oh that boss has 10000hp so I won't try to kill it."

I can't think of a single situation where the hp numbers would make a difference, basic mobs are going to die on few hits and everyone will attack bosses regardless of how much hp they have.

And for pvp, it's obvious that no-one else should see how much hp you have.

So I voted no.
Like what other people have said, mobs die pretty fast but it may be useful for bosses/rares?
I'm sure there would be times that it would be useful...

...but it also seems like a bit too much info. For a starting player. If you actually walked up to a monster you would only have a general idea of it's condition.

But it would be cool as an intelligence ability/gem to be able to change it over to the numbers. Insight.
NO we dont need it except bossmonsters. But percentage display would be enough.

Because: The most mobs will die in seconds, wie dont have to choose a skill with xy dmg because the mob has xy life.
later we know this skill does so much of life from the mobs and this so much. Not in numbers but on the bar.

hope u know what i mean!

quote and /sign if u think the same ;D
"If enabled in the options"
Its surely the best way to go imo, so everyones happy ^^
It's useless for the fact that once you hit "any" mob on your path, from the remained bar of mob, you already get an idea how much you blast you had, so that's MORE than enough.
