Personally, I love figuring things out. Once I figure out a game thoroughly, I lose interest, even if I haven't personally experienced all those things. Removing the numbers from the health bars adds an element of mystery to the numbers and makes it tougher for me to figure everything out to perfection. It's a small thing, but I think it might actually add to the experience for people like me.
If you have such a comprehensive game that shows all numerical values of the different statistics then why not show the monster's health?

Maybe have special monsters or in in a league where u dont show hp
Didn't you have this idea with custom realms with their own rule sets? Make this a realm dependant setting.

I'd really like a realm where you cannot see any stats only their effects in game play. This would be great for immersion in my opinion.

I know as long as long as I have access to stats I'll sit there with my calculator to figure out how much dmg/min, healing/min and so forth I can gain with which skill instead of picking what I intuitively want. Even though following my intuition would be more fun.

I like digits but it might be a good gameplay feature to hide exact numbers if you're going hardcore. You like need your own knowledge to apprehend those monsters you fight.
For hardcore mode i believe it should be off. makes the challenge of the game harder (have to guess how close the bosses is to death)

For normal mode it should be enabled. it makes the boss fights easier (know you can burst the last few percent/ see how fast you are taking him down to guage wether you need to run etc...)
It's not needed for every trash mob around in my opinion. It could be useful on the bosses but I'd much prefer a multicolor life bar that shows you the transition between phases so you can prepare for the changes. Everything should be a toggled feature tho, so you can stick with the good old red life bar.

I'd vote no, but maybe the option in UI to toggle it on and off for those who want it.

As the poll suggests it should probably be a toggle. I however would really love additional combat information, health represented by accurate numbers included. It would really make things more precise and potentially sort all this babble about ranged doing more damage than melee or vice versa.

there should be a lot of planning involved in making options customizable. This is the best way in my opinion.
For the more casual gamer, knowing the health of the mob does not really matter.

For the gamer who really takes the game seriously, goes indepth and plans out his entire build from level 1 to achieve the best build possible (i.e. me) knowing mob health and allowing me to see the dps my character makes is highly beneficial to whatever build planning I am going to make.


I'd say make it optional, make both camps happy.
